CBS News Hamas Stooge Should Have Waited Before Basically Calling Huckabee a Liar

As most of you wonderful guys who regularly read my scribbles know, major dad and I sit through the CBS Evening News every night. The old adage, ‘know your enemy,’ is part and parcel of the exercise, although there are the occasional gems – like Steve Hartman or the surprisingly even-handed and marvelously compassionate coverage of the Texas floods – that salvage a broadcast, or at least make you feel like you having completely wasted a half and hour (and thank God that’s all it is).

There are some constant, teeth-grating irritants every week, and one of those is longtime South African correspondent Debora Patta, an unrepetant Palestinian apologist. As the carnage engendered by the horrific October 7th Hamas slaughter carries on, her blaming of the Israelis at every turn for that war and its subsequent horrors gets ever more shrill.

We are not the only ones who’ve noticed the bias, believe me.

There are lots more where that one came from.

Her ire lately has been directed at the ‘starvation’ in Gaza because of the Israelis ‘denial’ of relief food and aid to Palestinians in need. She is laser-focused on aid efforts like the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which bypasses the UNWRA and is managed by the Israelis, the IDF, and American contractors. Patta contends that Palestinians are routinely shot and killed by IDF soldiers at GHF distribution sites, and, if they’re not being shot by Jews, the folks waiting on food are being treated in subhuman fashion.

In Debora Patta’s CBS interview with Rev. Johnnie Moore re: Gaza Humanitarian Foundation “aid distribution,” this one moment rankled.

Bypassing the UNWRA distribution scheme means bypassing Hamas.

This offends Patta in the extreme. 

So extremely, that when she had her shot at US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee for an interview last night, she took it and used it to beat him with.

At 1:09 in the video, Huckabee says, ‘Hamas has not allowed the food to get to the people who are hungry.’

Patta replies that, ‘We spoke to the World Food Program (WFP), and they have not been shown any evidence of this at all.‘ And continues in that vein for the next few seconds.

It’s really an extraordinary exchange, with Patta, in effect, accusing Huckabee of lying.

I can’t count the number of posts containing videos and testimony from Palestinians we have featured here, attesting to precisely what Patta is claiming never happens.

That interview ran 2:39, and I had a feeling Huckabee might have something to say about it afterward. He did.

In the transcript they edited for that short segment, Patta actually talks herself into a circle, from insisting that Hamas never takes food to how does the GHF know it’s not Hamas taking the food. It’s astonishing.

Oh, I think that there are certainly people suffering in Gaza. Part of the reason is, is because you’ve had pallets and trucks full of food that the UN won’t take in because they say they don’t want military escort from IDF, but they say it’s not safe, and 87% of their own food every time they do take it in gets hijacked and looted. That’s their numbers. Those aren’t mine. I didn’t make that up. That’s what they report. So there’s not been a lack of food or even a lack of attempt. It’s been an inefficient way of getting it in. It’s been a problem because you have a terror organization who is stealing it, looting it, and then turning around and selling it to the people who are hungry. And one thing that’s true certain is that Hamas is not feeding hostages. Where’s the Red Cross? Where’s the Red Crescent? How come they haven’t demanded that the hostages get fed? Where is the outrage over the way the hostages have been treated? We know there’s hunger and deprivation there. Hunger is terrible, no matter who it happens to, but I hope everybody is very clear eyed about why it’s happening. It’s happening because Hamas has not allowed the food to get to the people who are hungry. And we know from the testimony of Gazans and some of them with whom I spoke personally, that when they tried [inaudible]

There is no evidence that has been shown, for example, to the World Food Program of Hamas looting food. We are sure that it happened…

Ambassador Huckabee 

I saw it with my own eyes.

Reporter 

We spoke to the World Food Program, and they have not been shown any evidence of this at all. Their food is being looted…

Ambassador Huckabee 

Are you telling me they say that their food has not been looted?

Reporter 

No, I’m saying there’s no evidence that it’s been diverted to Hamas. They’re not saying it’s not being looted. What they’re saying…

Ambassador Huckabee 

I am shocked they would say that

What they’re saying, and to be fair, there are officials within the military who have also said there’s no evidence of it. We’re sure that some of this must be happening like that, but on a mass, wide scale, are you saying there is no starvation in Gaza?

Ambassador Huckabee 

No, I’m not saying there’s no starvation. I’m saying the starvation is the result of Hamas blocking the fact that there have been millions of tons food, over 2 million tons of food, that have gone into Gaza enough to feed the entire population for quite some time. Just two weeks ago, I put pictures on social media that showed 900 UN trucks parked ready to go in, but the food sitting there, rotting in the sun, thousands of pallets of food ready to go in. Nobody moving them in. Why do they not get the food in?

Okay, their explanation, and I’m not their spokesperson, and I’ve been exactly to where you’re talking about and seen it with my own eyes as well, is that there is still a war on in Gaza. There is not a humanitarian force across the whole of the territory. There is one road, road to go in and one road to come out. So, what happens is that you, Palestinians see the food the trucks. They see the trucks leaving. They see the trucks coming back for the food, and it gets looted every time it is the same road. They know that the trucks are going to come down that road. No one’s denying that there is looting. It’s a competition for food. And we see also at the GHF sites, when people storm the sites because they’re so desperate for the food, surely there is a better way across the whole territory to distribute food.

Ambassador Huckabee 

There absolutely is. And here’s what it is: Hamas stops keeping the food from coming in. The GHF sites are effective, and they are getting food to people. It’s not perfect, but it’s doing what President Trump required us, asked us to do, that was set up through GHF, give food to people, but in a way that Hamas didn’t steal it. Hamas made half a billion dollars last year, 500 million U.S. dollars stealing food, selling it on the black market in order to finance their activities. That’s stunning. That’s a real business they have. They put it in warehouses. Yes, there have been some of the just regular population who are looting the trucks. One of the things we heard at GHF feeding sites was people, when they first started coming, they said, well, this is the first time you didn’t have to pay for the food. They were used to having to buy a food from Hamas at prices that Hamas was inflating because they stole something. And then they turned around and sell it.

But GHF has no ability to verify who’s getting that food. They don’t know if the men, and it’s mostly men who go there. To this day, you have to be strong to compete. How do we know that those people aren’t from Hamas?

God almighty. The woman is insufferable.

And ‘I’m not their spokesperson‘?!

God damn – could have fooled me.

Besides, in Patta’s world, it’s Israel’s responsibility to feed the people who slaughtered babies, took captives, did depraved things to innocent young women and children, laughed while performing barbaric, savage acts of cruelty, and gleefully burned grandparents alive in their homes.

Patta should be glad she was able to get her selectively edited propaganda piece out because there is plenty of proof that Hamas has been systematically looting the convoys for profit, besides all that we’ve seen and documented. I had a whole post just three days ago that used the UN’s own figures about how the majority of aid trucks became stolen and hijacked vehicles.

Now, it’s soon going to be a matter of government record that she can willfully deny all she wants.

But I’ll bet she never mentions this.

And when you see posts about how expensive food is in Gaza, just remember it’s because Hamas is selling that aid.

The subversive USAID collaborators who leaked a ‘completed report’ to Reuters as they were being summarily booted from their toney digs are gone now. The folks who worked there, whose evidence was smothered to further the anti-Israeli narrative, will now have the fruits of their investigations see the light of damning day for Hamas.

The chief oversight body responsible for tracking American foreign assistance is compiling evidence that Hamas systematically steals U.N. aid in Gaza, including by placing terrorist operatives into U.N. facilities, and conducting active investigations into the issue, undercutting a recently leaked U.S. Agency for International Development “report” that found no evidence of such theft.

The investigations center on occasions in which Hamas “commandeered U.N. aid trucks,” embedded terrorist operatives in “U.N. agencies or at U.N. facilities,” and ensured humanitarian goods were “directly delivered to Hamas officials,” senior U.S. officials and congressional staffers briefed on the issue told the Washington Free Beacon. The USAID inspector general’s office has obtained evidence of those practices and is investigating “credible allegations of Hamas interference, diversion, and theft of humanitarian aid in Gaza,” according to a memo on the inspector general’s “Gaza-related oversight work” that was transmitted to Congress and obtained by the Free Beacon.

Though the Trump administration dissolved USAID itself earlier this year, USAID’s inspector general’s office is an independent entity that Congress established in 1980 to provide oversight of U.S. foreign aid programs. That office remains in place as its investigators probe “diversion, fraud, product substitution, smuggling, and other misconduct compromising lifesaving humanitarian assistance intended for civilians in Gaza,” the memo states.

It sure sounds like, contrary to Patta’s fervid assertions, that they have a ton of material to work with.

…One former investigator in the inspector general’s office said he “directly observed” how Hamas manipulates aid channels in Gaza, including “multiple cases where aid was clearly not reaching its intended targets, and in many cases, being diverted to hostile actors.”

The inspector general has opened at least four active audits into USAID’s mismanagement in Gaza.

One probe centers on USAID’s inability to “vet, screen, and prevent terrorist organizations or individuals engaged in terrorist activity from working for USAID-funded implementing partners or receiving other forms of USAID-funded assistance,” according to the July 30 internal memo. A second is probing “whether USAID had processes in place for assessing, mitigating, and monitoring selected fraud risks in cash assistance awards to NGOs in the West Bank and Gaza.”

The inspector general’s office has additionally been working to prevent “UNRWA staff associated with Hamas from circulating to other U.S. government-funded aid organizations.” It found evidence “connecting three current or formal UNRWA employees to the October 7 terror attacks and affiliating 14 other current or former UNRWA employees with Hamas.” It was unable, however, to confirm that UNRWA fired those employees. Though the U.N. provided a report on the matter to the inspector general’s office, the report “redacted the names of subjects, rendering the report unusable,” the office said in an April investigative summary.

The inspector general is also reviewing additional evidence that Hamas launched mortars at aid delivery sites, fired grenades at aid workers, and opened gunfire on crowds of Gazan civilians seeking food, according to those briefed on the matter.

As the Free Beacon article says, there is endless video evidence of Hamas looting and video testimony from drivers and militia members bragging as they detail their dirty deeds. We have all seen them time and again ourselves.

But ‘journalist’ Patta has a burning anti-Israeli hatred to feed, a huge platform to do it on, and so she drones on. 

It is shameful and despicable. 

It is a case study in the bitter, arrogant, unconstrained bias that the fraudulently vile American media is dying over.
