You may feel you can’t go three city blocks without being assailed by some foul smell, sight, or individual. You may feel wary of walking home past sunset. You may feel irritated when someone blows a puff of weed smoke in your face or frightened when a stranger grabs your hair. But the data says things are good.
That seems to be the argument forwarded by those adamantly opposed to President Donald Trump’s plans for Washington, D.C. The New York Times (NYT) writes that Trump’s descriptions of the city “stood in sharp contrast to official statistics.” MSNBC cites the same statistics.
