Bill Maher Shreds the Ladies of ‘The View’ with an Absolutely Brutal Hot Take [WATCH]

HBO host Bill Maher criticized the co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” during a recent episode of his “Club Random” podcast, telling guest Drew Barrymore that the panel is not the best representation of women’s perspectives.

Maher, speaking with Barrymore on Monday, said that while he likes and respects the five women on the daytime talk show, he does not view them as ideal spokespeople for women’s issues.

“And I like everyone, but I don’t know if they’re really at this moment the best advertisement for women,” Maher told Barrymore.

The exchange began after Barrymore invited Maher to appear on “The Drew Barrymore Show” in New York City.

That prompted Maher to reference his friendships with several members of “The View” cast while also noting his reservations about the program.

“I’m friendly with some of the ladies on ‘The View’ and I love them but, like, that show’s a lot,” Maher said.

Barrymore mentioned that “The View” co-host Joy Behar had recently appeared on her program.

Maher responded, “I love Joy,” before clarifying that while he appreciates everyone on the show personally, he disagrees with many of the positions they take during broadcasts.

“They say some things that are just like, not helpful, say to elections,” Maher stated.

Maher’s criticism comes months after his May 2024 appearance on “The View,” where he clashed with co-host Sunny Hostin over the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.

Hostin claimed that Israel was killing innocent Palestinian civilians and children, while Maher argued that Israel had a right to defend itself against Hamas.

Maher acknowledged the loss of innocent life but maintained that responsibility lies with Hamas.

“That’s what happens in a war. Here’s a way to stop that, stop attacking Israel,” he told Hostin.

In addition to his recent remarks on “The View,” Maher has also taken issue with comments made by co-host Whoopi Goldberg.

In July, Goldberg said that Black people in the United States are oppressed in the same way women are oppressed in Iran.

Maher pushed back on that comparison during a separate “Club Random” episode with progressive commentator Brian Tyler Cohen.

“That is something that, again, is infuriating about the far left, I would say. Call them whatever they wanted. Not the woke, the stupid woke, like Whoopi Goldberg, love her, but when she said a couple weeks ago that being Black was the same as being a woman in Iran, it’s like, yeah, in 1920, but not today,” Maher said.

Maher, who has been a vocal critic of both right- and left-wing politics, has increasingly directed his critiques toward what he describes as extreme rhetoric from progressive voices.
