Locals Taunt Authorities Who Appeared To Be Working In Capital Under Trump’s Crackdown Orders

Liberals tolerate a lot. Deranged sex parades. Academic mumbo-jumbo. Threats to their physical safety. They draw the line at tolerating law enforcement enforcing the law. 

“Shame! Shame! Shame!” chanted a crowd gathered at the intersection of W and 14th Street in Washington, D.C. The targets of their rebuke: law enforcement officials operating a vehicle checkpoint along a well-trafficked nightlife corridor.

The officers were a mix of federal and local authorities dispatched following President Donald Trump’s “crime crackdown” in the nation’s capital, according to NBC News.

They included uniformed Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers, plainclothes agents and Homeland Security Investigations personnel, according to the outlet. I was among the crowd, though partook in no heckling myself. Many had their phones at the ready. Others were too busy spitting out spastic jeers. 

“No digas nada,” a man repeatedly yelled, meaning, “Don’t say anything.”  

Fifteen seconds of silence.

“Go home, fascists.”

No response.

“Take off your mask.”

Silence.

“Afraid to be a Yankees fan?” (This one was admittedly pretty funny. And did get something of a head turn from the masked Yankees fan in question.)

“Is this what you signed up for?”

To which, the answer seems like an easy, “Yes.” The lapses in heckling imbued the scene with a beautiful, video-game-like quality. A low-budget game which could only afford one or two voice actors to record a couple of lines of non-player character (NPC) dialogue to fill out the gameplay. 

Protesters remained undeterred in their quest to break law enforcement. One taunted officers by suggesting their children must be ashamed of them. Another loudly wished that the families of the officials on the scene would be wrongfully deported. 

Still others held up large, handmade signs reading “ICE,” directing incoming traffic away from the checkpoint. 

The authorities appeared totally unfazed by such attempts at psychological warfare. Which is strange, because there’s nothing more disturbing than being denounced by a band of nasally thirty-somethings. Officials will have to content themselves with the knowledge that 91% of Washington, D.C., residents think that the city’s crime problem is extremely or moderately serious, according to a recent survey from The Washington Post.

One person was arrested that night, witnesses told 4 NBC Washington. And then the officers left. And everyone went home. 

It’s pretty amazing to witness liberal derangement in the first person. TikTok screeds don’t quite capture the self-righteous, flabby, hilarious nature of a bunch of dorks losing their minds at unresponsive cops. (RELATED: Liberals Seethe After Gavin Newsom Does Something Sort Of Sane For Once)

The “shame” chant is probably a Game of Thrones reference, which is one of a handful of pop-culture properties liberals invoke ad nauseum. Life, filtered through medieval dragons. And Harry Potter. And The Handmaid’s Tale. 

I guess it’s better than the other favored mode of liberal protest, violence. But neither paints a very pretty picture of whatever’s going on upstairs.
