Lunatic Attacks Federal Officer with a Sandwich, He’s Not Laughing Now [WATCH]

U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., Jeanine Pirro announced Wednesday that her office has filed charges against a man accused of throwing a sandwich at a federal law enforcement officer during an incident in the district on Monday.

According to video of the incident, a man wearing a pink shirt approached a federal officer, jumping and shouting before throwing a Subway sandwich at him and fleeing.

Pirro confirmed that her office charged the suspect with felony assault on a police officer.

“So President [Donald] Trump has vowed to make D.C. safe and beautiful again. And as part of his effort to fight crime, he’s bringing in our federal law enforcement partners … to help the Metropolitan PD fight crime,” Pirro said in a video posted to X.

“And the president’s message to the criminals was, ‘If you spit, we hit.’ Well, we didn’t quite do that the other night when an individual went up to one of the federal law enforcement officers and started jumping up and down, screaming at him, berating him, yelling at him.”

“And then he took a Subway sandwich … and took it and threw it at the officer. He thought it was funny,” Pirro continued.

The charges follow President Trump’s August 12 announcement declaring a “public safety emergency” in Washington, D.C., and deploying the National Guard to address violent crime.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the operation involved nearly 850 officers in the city on Monday night.

The law enforcement presence led to the arrests of 23 individuals for offenses including homicide, firearm violations, and drug-related crimes. Authorities also seized six illegal firearms during the operation.

While some media outlets have reported that violent crime in D.C. fell by 35% in 2024, those figures are based on Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) data that does not include certain categories of crime, such as felony and aggravated assault.

MPD’s official “violent crime” totals include homicide, sex abuse, assault with a dangerous weapon, and robbery but exclude aggravated assaults and felony assaults without weapons.

On Tuesday, Pirro responded to a reporter who suggested the administration had shifted its stance on crime in the capital.

“It’s never enough. This changed, this changed, it’s never enough! You tell these families crime has dropped. You tell the mother of the intern who was shot going out for McDonald’s near the Washington Convention Center, ‘Oh, crime is down,’” Pirro said.

“You tell the kid who was just beat to hell and back with a severe concussion and a broken nose, ‘Crime is down.’ No, that falls on deaf ears. And my ears are deaf to that and that’s why I fight the fight.”

The administration’s latest crime crackdown follows several high-profile incidents in the city.

On August 5, former Department of Government Efficiency employee Edward Coristine, also known as “Big Balls,” was hospitalized after being severely beaten when he attempted to stop a carjacking at approximately 3 a.m.

The assault charge announced by Pirro is part of a broader effort by federal and local authorities to increase enforcement and address public safety concerns in the nation’s capital.
