Nothing About American Gun Culture Is ‘Toxic’

We see a lot of words being thrown around regularly in this day and age without any actual concern over just what those words mean. Inclusion that actually means discrimination, diversity which is really homogeneity, and then we have the word “toxic.”

Now, understand that there are plenty of toxic people and toxic groups out there. I’ve known too many of them, dated a couple back when I was single, and been around far more of them.

Toxicity is a thing.

But it also gets used to mean “any group that does something or stands for something I don’t like.” That’s what annoys me the most about it.

For example, we have this screed from Scotland that laments the rise of “toxic” gun culture in the country.

New statutory guidance announced by the Home Office earlier this month will force even tighter controls on firearms licensing to keep people safe and help the police apply the law consistently.

However, families who lost loved ones are now concerned with a spike in the popularity of “practical shooting” and toxic US-style gun clubs.

It is hard not to understand their worries when footage shows participants whipping handguns from holsters to blast human- shaped cutouts.

Jack Crozier, whose sister Emma was tragically killed at the primary school, believes it is glamorising guns and that the people in charge of the clubs are wilfully ignoring the dangers of the culture they are promoting.

The Gun Control Network has also warned gun licensing rules are not strong enough. It appears that practical shooting ranges are escaping the same scrutiny as other gun clubs because of the type of weapons used, despite the fact they can still be deadly.

As the battle against gun violence evolves we must ensure our regulatory landscape is not unwittingly facilitating a drift towards a more Americanised gun culture.

Scotland and the rest of the UK should be so lucky.

Let’s understand something here. These clubs aren’t engaging in politics, so far as is described here. They’re people enjoying an activity within the confines of some pretty strict gun laws. It should be noted, though, that despite the response to Dunblane, there have been additional mass murders with firearms in the United Kingdom since then, showing that the laws in question simply don’t work.

Then again, the author thinks opposing gun rights is “dignified,” so what are you going to do?

Yet the author, whose name isn’t given, seems to see people going about their lives in a way they don’t approve of as “toxic.”

No, toxic is stripping people of their property and their rights because one jackwagon did something horrible, especially as there have been massacres since then using firearms, among other weapons. “Toxic” is seeing people enjoy an activity you don’t like and losing your mind about the mere existence, simply because it kind of looks like something we do in the United States.

But if they actually did have an American-style gun culture, the knife attacks that are so common on the streets of the UK would end very differently. The rape gangs running around London would have found justice long ago. And the government wouldn’t have the guts to arrest people over memes and comments on X.

So yeah, they should be so lucky as to have an American-style gun culture.

They might actually have some semblance of freedom then.

Editor’s Note: The radical left will stop at nothing to enact their radical gun control agenda and strip us of our Second Amendment rights, putting us in the exact same position as the UK.
