Karma Is a Stitch: Dems Still Paying for Kamala’s Failed Campaign … Literally

When the Democrat establishment rushed to anoint Kamala Harris as the nominee after the implosion of the Joe Biden Fraud, a liberal friend commented to me that Donald Trump now would certainly lose the election. I replied, “Democrats just chose the worst nominee in the worst possible way,” and warned him that Democrats would pay dearly for both the Anointment and the fraud that necessitated it. 

That certainly proved prophetic in the figurative sense. Democrats paid through the nose politically for their rush to cover-up the cover-up. But as Axios reported yesterday, they’re still literally paying for The Harris Brat Summer:

The Democratic National Committee has paid more than $15 million toward Harris 2024 campaign expenses in the first six months of 2025.

Why it matters: The continued payments and lackluster fundraising left the DNC with $65 million less cash on hand than the Republican National Committee at the end of July.

Indeed. Yesterday, I pointed out that the DNC’s fundraising — that’s direct-to-party donations, not including congressional campaign committees and outside groups — has fallen off to record-poor levels. As of their last FEC report, the DNC only had $15 million in cash on hand, compared to $80 million for the GOP, which doesn’t need to cover any more expenses from Trump’s campaign. 

John wrote last week that the party has begun pointing fingers over the fundraising flop at new DNC chair Ken Martin, when Politico first noticed that the DNC was still underwriting the defunct Harris campaign as well. That doesn’t make much sense, however, since Martin only took the job in February, and he didn’t have any control over the financial arrangements with Harris’ team. In fact, Martin didn’t have much to do with the Harris Anointment, being the Minnesota state DFL chair at the time, or the Joe Biden Fraud that necessitated it. To the extent that the Brat Summer implosion impacted donor motivation, Martin hardly can be held responsible for the situation. 

So what exactly is the DNC paying off for Harris? Axios offers a short taste of the invoices:

On behalf of Harris, the DNC has paid for the following items during the past six months:

• $548,050 to the charter flight company Executive Fliteways Inc.
• $2.125 million to the media production firm Assembly House LLC.
• $237,201 to the law firm Covington & Burling.

This seems pretty curious, however. It’s understandable that the DNC finds itself on the hook for Harris’ leftover bills; both the RNC and DNC routinely combine operations with their presidential nominees to take advantage of looser contribution limits and other considerations. As a combined entity, the DNC incurred these expenses with the Harris campaign. However, shouldn’t the candidate be doing some work to help retire these bills too? To put it even more bluntly, it wasn’t Martin who wasted $1.5 billion in ten weeks only to lose all seven swing states to He Who Must Not Be Named In Proper Company. So where’s Madame Brat herself?

Turns out some in the DNC want to know the answer to that question, too. The answer may explain much about certain decisions made this year:

Democrats have asked Harris and her team to hold more fundraisers and call more donors to solicit contributions to help pay off the expenses, but her allies believe she’s done her part.

Harris has allowed the DNC to continue using her email list to help raise money and has held a few small fundraising events. But the total money raised from the events has been disappointing, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Might that be a reason for Harris’ decision (ostensibly) to withdraw from California’s gubernatorial race? Hmmm. Harris and the DNC raised a ton of money during that ten-week campaign, but one has to wonder just how well Harris performed on her own during that process. Or perhaps more accurately, we don’t have to wonder about that any longer. Her ineptitude finally made an impression among Democrats, or again perhaps more accurately, they finally had to stop pretending that Mrs. Word Salad America was dazzlingly competent and coherent enough for basic block-and-tackle political work. 

The question, though, is how much more debt and expenses the DNC will have to cover for Harris. Thanks to the fraud perpetrated on voters by Democrats over the past four years and last year in particular, donors don’t want to provide funds for more gaslighting. They’ll be even less excited to know that any current contributions will likely largely go to the leftover debt from their previous gaslighting. Maybe they can start by clawing back the million dollars that the Harris-DNC operation paid Oprah Winfrey’s production company last year for the cringe-fest obsequious ‘interview’ Winfrey staged with VP Joy-Joy. If Winfrey had any sense of ethics, though, she would have already returned that money, along with an apology to her audience. 

Maybe Democrats should try apologizing for their fraud and deceit, too. That might make for a good start in building some trust with voters, if not a first step toward accountability. How many land acknowledgments will it take, though, before Democrats start apologizing for their actual sins?
