I’m no longer worried about the midterms. Or the next presidential election, or the one after that.
Just so long as Democrats keep paying the genius behind their new “fight song,” proudly debuted by an ActBlue leader at “several sessions” of the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) summer meetings, according to journalist David Weigel. (RELATED: Democrats’ Panhandling Hits Pathetic Low)
Weigel shared a picture Aug. 27 of the song’s lyrics to X.

“How embarrassing,” David McIntosh, co-founder of The Federalist Society, wrote of the lyrics.
Much to my disappointment, Weigel did not include a recording of the crowd singing along. I prefer to believe they raised their voices to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.”
But the Democrats already have a fight song.
“This is our fight song,” noted Steve Guest, a former adviser for Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, referring to a 2016 video of celebrities singing in support of former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Watch their rendition of Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song,” if you can stomach it.
“This is Rachel Platten erasure,” wrote Christopher Hale, a White House staffer for former President Barack Obama.

Democrats weren’t always this bad at optics.
“Nah I’ll stick with our old song,” wrote Eric Columbus, an Obama appointee at the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security. Columbus refers to the anthem of choice for Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1932 presidential campaign: “Happy Days Are Here Again.”
Former President Bill Clinton’s choice, “Don’t Stop,” is nothing to sneer at, either.

So suggested Democratic New York City Councilman Justin Brannan, who reacted to the fight song with an image of a man removing his headphones in disgust.
Democrats have figured out that music is emotionally effective. They just haven’t figured out how to evoke the desired effect.
