Dana White Details White House Event [WATCH]

UFC President Dana White confirmed Friday that the Ultimate Fighting Championship will stage an event at the White House next year as part of the nation’s 250th birthday celebration.

Appearing on Fox News’ “Special Report with Bret Baier,” White outlined plans for a large-scale festival atmosphere on the South Lawn.

President Donald Trump first announced the idea to supporters in July, saying he wanted to bring a championship fight to the White House grounds.

White told Fox News the event will include live music, fan gatherings, and extensive public viewing areas across Washington, D.C.

“We’re going to have a stage, where music, you know, we’ll have bands playing all day and then people will be able to bring blankets and, you know, lay around and watch the fights. We’ll have screens up everywhere for everybody,” White said.

“We’re literally going to take over Washington, D.C. that week. We’re going to do the weigh-ins there. We’re going to have the weigh-in events. And we’ll have fan events all week. We’re going to do our expo there and just a total Washington, D.C. takeover.”

White said the concept came directly from President Trump. “Literally, one day he asked me, you know, he loves the White House. He’s so proud of the White House, and he wants to bring the American people back to the White House with lots of different events, and he said, ‘How’d you like to do a fight at the White House?’ He didn’t have to ask me twice. I was in,” White said.

Attendance will be capped, White explained, while engineers determine how many people the South Lawn can support.

“We’re still playing with that. It’s going to be under 5,000 people. It depends on how much the lawn can hold as far as weight. Like the octagon itself weighs 15,000 pounds, so we don’t know. We’re still working it out, and my vision for this thing is we have this big arch, as you can see, with the lighting grid, because what I want is the White House on the back, and then when you shoot, when the fight goes around to the other side, you’ll see the Washington Monument.”

White also said the Ellipse will host a large viewing party for fans. “He put Ivanka in charge of handling this thing and putting it together, and when we sent the plans over to Ivanka, she said, ‘Dana, you do not mess around,’” White said.

“Yeah, we can fit 85,000 people over there.”

President Trump has long maintained a close relationship with White, having attended numerous UFC events over the years.

He was met with chants of “USA” and loud ovations during appearances at major fight nights, including UFC 309 in November following his 2024 election victory.

On that occasion, Trump entered the arena alongside senior officials, including Tulsi Gabbard and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The White House UFC championship is scheduled to be one of the marquee events of the United States’ semiquincentennial in 2026, blending sports, music, and national celebration on one of the country’s most iconic stages.
