Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a Cuban illegal alien in Tampa, Florida, who had previously been convicted of threatening to bomb the office of Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Fla., federal officials confirmed over the weekend, as reported by Fox News.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), 58-year-old Rigoberto Albizar-Martinez was taken into custody by ICE as part of the agency’s latest operation targeting criminal illegal aliens. DHS described him as one of the “worst of the worst” offenders.

Albizar-Martinez was sentenced in May to one year in prison after being found guilty in December of leaving a voicemail in which he threatened to plant a bomb in Rep. Castor’s Tampa office.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida said the message was “vulgar, racist, obscenity-laden” and included threats against the congresswoman.

Local outlet WFLA reported that Albizar-Martinez stated in Spanish, “I’m going to plant a bomb in your office. It’s a threat,” and added, “It’s a threat, so take it however you want you son of a f**king b**ch.”

The voicemail also contained insults aimed at Democrats, black people, and pro-Palestinian individuals.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin issued a statement to Fox News Digital following the arrest. “There is no place for political violence in America,” McLaughlin said.

“Rigoberto Albizar-Martinez threatened to bomb a Congresswoman’s office. Thanks to the brave men and women of ICE, this illegal alien and national security threat will be out of our country. Nothing will deter us to remove the worst of the worst from American communities.”

Rep. Castor did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Albizar-Martinez’s arrest was part of a broader ICE enforcement effort that removed several other criminal illegal aliens across multiple states. Among those detained:

Jorge German Aglony, a Chilean national in California, convicted of abusing a dependent adult or elder and of possession of child pornography.

Leonardo Velazquez-Marin, a Mexican national in Dallas County, Texas, convicted of possession of child pornography.

Jose Elias Mejia-Orellana, a Honduran national in Collin County, Texas, convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14.

Melvin Guiakora, a national of the Central African Republic, convicted of sexual solicitation of a minor in Washington County, Maryland.

Adan Mares-Martinez, a Mexican national and member of the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion, convicted of assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury in Norwalk, California.

Elvin Humberto Madrigal-Calero, a Nicaraguan national, convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Pulaski County, Virginia.

Oscar Morales-Valencia, a Mexican national in El Centro, California, convicted of bringing in and harboring aliens.

These arrests come as DHS announced last week that two million illegal immigrants have either been removed or self-deported since January 20. Of that figure, about 1.6 million departed voluntarily, while 400,000 were formally removed by federal law enforcement.

“Ramped-up immigration enforcement targeting the worst of the worst is removing more and more criminal illegal aliens off our streets every day and is sending a clear message to anyone else in this country illegally: Self-deport or we will arrest and deport you,” McLaughlin said.
