Virginia Democrats Show What Letting the Rage Fuel Them Means

By now, you are likely familiar with the story of Jay Jones, the terrible, horrible, no-good, very-bad candidate for Attorney General of Virginia. 

Beege wrote about the emerging scandal yesterday, and chances are good that there will be enough twists and turns to the story that you will read quite a bit more about it over the next few days or weeks. 

For those unfamiliar with the breaking story, the short version is this: Virginia Delegate Jay Jones is running for Attorney General in Virginia and has a comfortable (if hopefully temporary) lead in the race against incumbent Attorney General Jason Miyares this November. (Actually, voting has already begun, because American elections are stupid these days.) 

After the death of one of his colleagues, Jones accidentally texted one of his Republican colleagues with some very unkind comments about the deceased. This, while classless, is not scandalous. It is mildly embarrassing, since being unkind in private is hardly uncommon. 

They shot the President.

They killed Charlie Kirk.

They threatened to kill Kim Taylor.

They said they’d kill ME at my next rally, then my kids.

Now we learn Jay Jones repeatedly said he wanted to kill Speaker Todd Gilbert⬇️

However, once he realized his mistake, he doubled, tripled, and quadrupled down, explaining how he wished another of his colleagues’ death and would be happy to do the dirty deed, and hoped his wife and children suffered mightily. He made it clear that progress in politics comes through the strategic use of violence–it is the only way to ensure that one succeeds–and generally revealed that he thought Machiavelli was way too nice in his approach to politics.

He was obviously serious and wanted to make sure his Republican colleague–who desperately wanted out of the conversation–understood his point. Think Che Guevara, and you are in the ballpark. The guy is, in private, exactly what you fear the younger Democrats are really like now that the mask is off. All those years of inculcating revolutionary politics have worked magic on a party that used to be more about machine politics than ideology.

Jones at first refused to comment, and then came out with a non-apology apology that basically blamed Donald Trump. He even, amusingly, called The National Review a “Trump-controlled” outlet, which is rich. His basic thrust was that revealing him to be a psychopath was dirty politics. His spending hours hounding a Republican colleague to explain why Republicans and their children should suffer and die is perfectly within bounds, you see. 

Here’s the problem for Democrats.

Their newest generation of voters and candidates is absolutely insane.

Jones is, to the slightest extent possible, expressing remorse–he is sorry he got caught, and obviously not sorry about what he said. He smirks as he “apologizes.” If you read the text exchange, he didn’t just spout rage; he explained why he feels that letting his rage fuel him and expressing it at the point of a gun is the way things should be.

Jones: “Well, again, I am so deeply, deeply sorry for what I said, and I wish that it hadn’t happened, and I would take it back if I could.”

Jones clearly doesn’t want to deal with the consequences of his actions.

Which brings us to Abigail Spanberger, who has made “rage” a consistent theme of her campaign, selling herself as a fourth-rate Emperor Palpatine. 

Spanberger, you see, will not distance herself from Jones. She is sticking by him, although she concedes that his getting caught was a bad political move. 

Jay Jones wished death on children and fantasized about killing people.

Abigail Spanberger’s response was empty—she condemned the rhetoric but stopped short of saying what any serious leader would: Jay Jones must drop out.

Her statement is, shall we say, weak tea. And how could it not be? She has been selling rage to her constituents and Virginia voters, and here we have rage personified. What’s to object to, aside from being made to look bad by having the rage be revealed in all its ugliness? 

Democrats have indeed been giving in to their rage–celebrating the deaths of Republicans and drawing up hit lists on social media. Democratic teachers put up TikTok videos dancing in joy at Charlie Kirk’s death. Democratic doctors, lawyers, nurses, and even judges have celebrated Kirk’s death. They have embraced their rage, and Spanberger is egging them on in her stump speeches. 

Spanberger is a sitting Congresswoman and is in the lead for the role of Governor of Virginia; Jones is currently up in the polls for the slot of Attorney General. Their support base is comprised of government–mostly federal–who are enraged at Donald Trump. 

This is what their rage looks like. They are demanding blood. Many have told their Congressmen they want blood in the streets, as reported by Axios.

Moderate Democrats, who get all hot and bothered by Trump’s “stochastic terrorism,” can’t see in their own candidates the lust for actual terrorism even when it slaps them in the face. They wave away the violent rhetoric, the open admissions that they want Republicans dead, and claim that the “rage” is fueled by a twisted kind of “kindness” and tolerance. 

No, my friends. When Democratic activists and politicians speak of rage, call for blood in the streets, and fantasize about the death of their political opponents, they actually MEAN it. They support Antifa, embrace drug cartels and gang violence, and celebrate the Luigi Mangiones of the world. 

I wrote yesterday about the alarming rise of violent rhetoric spewed by Democrats AFTER the assassination attempt on Trump. Democrats saw Trump get shot and one of his supporters murdered, and they amped up the rhetoric. Not by a little, but by 2500%. 

They want Trump and other Republicans literally dead. 

The Democrats’ candidate for Attorney General of Virginia is one of those people willing to say it, and Abigail Spanberger, their candidate for Governor, stands by him as he is exposed to the world. 

Own it, or disown it. But Democrats, don’t deny it. We see you.
