The name David Hogg is one that we know all too well. He’s spent his time in the aftermath of Parkland pushing gun control. Even as he branches out to other leftist political positions, gun control is still a primary driver of his politics and his efforts.
And yes, he’s annoying, in part because he’s not actually bringing anything new to the table. He parrots talking points other people have used for years to advance the narrative. He claims he was going to sit down with gun rights folks, but I can’t see any evidence that he actually did, though I could be wrong, and he keeps pretending that when he talks to gun folks in person, they get along great, all without any of these people stepping up to agree.
In short, he talks a big game, but he does it without actually doing anything except talking a big game.
And now, the New York Post is calling out his grift.
Young Democratic “reformer” David Hogg turns out to have learned a thing or two from the establishment he damns.
The lefty activist has parlayed his presence at the grisly 2018 Parkland, Fla., high school mass shooting into prominence as a gun control activist, then a Harvard degree and finally a nice little niche for himself in the wild, wild world of Washington, DC.
He even briefly served on the Democratic National Committee (warning Dems to quit ragging on young men who just want to “get laid” and “have fun”).
Two years ago, he created the political action committee Leaders We Deserve, vowing it would identify and elect progressive “trailblazers” to “challenge the status quo.”
Hence his promise in April to spend $20 million to primary incumbent Democrats (a vow that got him ousted from the DNC).

Washington is a frothing ecosystem of influencers, lobbyists, consultants, politicians, organizers, etc., paying and billing each other in the name of greater causes.
Every generation brings forth new crusaders against this beast, only for many or most to go native.
The problem was, Hogg went native from the start.
When he, a state college reject who was taking a gap year only because every school he applied to shot him down, got into Harvard, he figured out pretty quickly that activism paid dividends. Then, on a left-leaning college campus like Harvard’s is these days, it’s unlikely that he ran into many downsides socially.
He and his buddies became overnight celebrities the moment they started jumping in front of every camera they could find. He realized that the media would protect him from criticism because he offered the right marriage.
And look at what happened. He was elected as a DNC co-chair despite his losing record in supporting candidates. A few years ago, his PAC backed three candidates, and the only one who won was not really facing any challenge. His track record in backing candidates and winning elections is abysmal.
He was voted to co-chair because Democrats somehow thought he was the key to winning young men or something, but Hogg was always about what he could get out of his efforts. It’s a lesson he learned early in his activism career. Everything he did was about what he could do to benefit himself.
It’s a lesson Democrats taught him and taught him well. They should never have been surprised to find out the kid they elevated to sainthood because of what school he happened to attend turned out not to be some naturally gifted political mind, especially when they showered him with affection for doing absolutely nothing of note.
You get what you reward. This is basic psychology, and they rewarded him simply for being vocal.
Now, they got what they deserved, and they saw what we saw all along.
