Virginia Democratic Attorney General candidate Jay Jones claims he’s running for office “to protect Virginia families.” That slogan comes with an unwritten asterisk: to protect *left-wing Virginia families.
Jones allegedly told a colleague he wished his political opponent’s wife “could watch her own child die in her arms so that [he] might reconsider his political views,” according to a 2022 phone call described to National Review by a source familiar. That opponent was then Republican House Speaker Todd Gilbert, who appears to have two young sons.
