Shocker: Jack Smith Grossly Abused His Power to Spy on Republicans

Jack Smith was appointed to be a Special Counsel investigating Donald Trump illegally, and apparently, he had a habit of stretching his sketchily legal authority to spy on Republicans whom the Biden administration wanted to gather opposition research on. 

For a person whose mantra was, “Nobody is above the law,” he sure had an expansive view of what exactly that means, and who exactly was a “nobody” who actually WAS above the law, including himself.

I, on the other hand, will provide the appropriate rant, as is my wont. Beege uses snark; I go for the jugular.

Smith was never legally appointed for a simple reason: Special Counsels are supposed to be federal prosecutors who have been put on a special assignment, while Smith was a private attorney hand-picked by Merrick Garland because he had a long record of abusing his power and losing important cases. The whole point of Smith’s fishing expedition was to influence the 2024 election, and apparently also to spy on Republicans in a very questionable and likely illegal manner.

Nobody expected that Jack Smith would ever get a conviction in his shaky case; they just wanted a pretext to slander Donald Trump at a crucial campaign moment. It was, everybody who followed such matters knew, pure lawfare. Famously, Smith had already lost two high-profile corruption cases through mistrials (those sketchy legal practices again!), and nobody cared whether Trump was actually guilty or convicted.

I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised that Smith grossly abused his power. Biden learned during the Obama administration that spying on reporters and members of Congress was a consequence-free way to throw spanners into the works. Democrats are never held responsible for abusing their powers or breaking laws for political purposes, unless other Democrats want them canned for some reason. 

Well well well…

You may recall that under Obama, the CIA hacked the computers of the Senate Intelligence Committee (and Sheryl Attkinson), and tapped the phones of James Rosen, the Fox reporter. Nothing came of that because, well, Obama… Obama was the lightbringer, and Trump is Orange Man Bad.

Smith’s gross abuse of power will bother not a single Democrat, because they remain confident that the rules don’t apply to them, just as Smith was pursuing Trump, a former president with declassification powers, for holding classified documents in a secure location, while Biden was able to skate for doing so in his garage. 

This is your reminder that this photo was staged.

Anyone with a functioning brain knew it.

Smith, Merrick Garland, and the Obama crew who created the Steele Dossier hoax all belong in jail for a very long time, but I have little doubt that they (and James Comey) will skate with few if any consequences. Comey has even bragged about some of his crimes, and creating the hoax, entrapping General Flynn, and breaking the law by leaking classified documents himself.

I don’t know a single Democrat who is bothered by all this lawbreaking and lying. They consider it justified, so they shrug about it. Just as they shrug about censoring The New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop revelations, or all the lies about COVID. They consider destroying Republicans to be a noble cause, and noble lies (and worse) are justified. 

Hunter Biden, whose laptop didn’t matter, we are told, wound up being Deputy President during Biden’s last year or two, and helped direct the pardon operation. 

None of these people doubts, in their hearts, that Joe Biden sold out the country for the benefit of his family. They just don’t care. People who shrugged at Obama’s drone-striking American citizens are now outraged about Trump doing the same with drug traffickers on their way to kill American citizens. 

As long as the truly excellent Pinot Noir flows and their Democrat privilege remains, the world can burn and the US descend into a tyranny.
