German Court Gives Thumbs Up to LinkedIn Deletion of True COVID Info

I swear, these Europeans and their attachment to the ever-widening surveillance and control state. It’s not only local governments – it’s the national government.

Then it’s not just the national government, it’s the European Union with its innumerable, kraken-like regulatory arms reaching into every aspect of one’s existence.

And if that wasn’t enough, what the heck – sign them up for whoever at the United Nations wants something to say about how one lives one’s life.

Just make sure the peasant who runs afoul of whatever edict he’s broken knows that every autocrat standing on every rung in the official ladder of the global state dictating his miserable life will be coming for him.

The object is to make the miscreant’s experience so unpleasant that none of the other great unwashed will be tempted into a similar offense, however mild on the surface it might seem.

THE PROCESS IS THE PUNISHMENT

Sound familiar? It should.

Went through a lot of that here during the late pandemic, but a fair amount of it is being rectified, retracted, and, in some instances, the grievous injustices and harms done made as good as they could be, all things considered.

In Europe, they’re still taking a pound of flesh for deniers.

This case in Germany is one of those things that blow my mind about the European collective Borg mentality.

Yeah, it’s a little enough example, but goll dang if it doesn’t scrape an all-American, red, white, and blue freedom nerve, tell you what.

I know you’ll see red, too.

A Berlin court has ruled that LinkedIn was right to block and suspend accounts that posted about Covid-19, despite the posts being correct.

It did so on the grounds that their content contradicted guidance from the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The court based its ruling on the controversial Digital Services Act (DSA), the European Union’s regulation that creates a framework for online platforms to be more accountable, transparent and safer for users, German magazine Cicero reported yesterday.

WHUT

There are so many ‘whuts’ in those three sentences, I can’t even.

First, LinkedIn was working for the state, blocking information – well, we had our own online Stasi units, but they have finally paid a heavy price for their POTATUS-era collusion.

LinkedIn in Germany apparently is still fighting a rearguard action in the courts, but why?

And using the reviled World Health Organization (WHO) with risible and revolting head guru Tedros as issuers of some sort of unimpeachable medical standards when they’ve proven time and again they’re garbage-laden tools of the CCP?

All under the auspices of an act that’s supposed to mean more accountability and transparency for users?

WHUT

For three 2022 posts on COVID vaccines that challenged the published WHO guidance, LinkedIn blocked the posts and suspended the user.

The user sued, and, at one point, won reinstatement of his account, but not the original posts, even though the information has since been proven scientifically factual and correct.

Upon appeal, the next court ruled that LinkedIn could block the user as they were guilty of posting information, regardless of accuracy, that conflicted with the posted guidelines.

On a public forum.

…According to the German Court of Appeal, LinkedIn’s policy of flagging content contrary to WHO guidelines as “false or misleading” was lawful.

The court prioritised LinkedIn’s right to conduct business, concluding that the platform was justified in setting health-related standards without evaluating the accuracy of each individual statement.

It classified texts, even those citing scientists, that opposed mandatory vaccination as “inadmissible content” simply because they contradicted the WHO’s assessments.

The Court of Appeal further asserted that criticisms of the WHO or Germany’s Robert Koch Institute (RKI) were irrelevant if the content conflicted with official guidelines.

Evidence suggesting strong political influence on these institutions was disregarded, reinforcing the platform’s power to remove dissenting content.

Under DSA, platforms are able to restrict use in their terms and conditions as long as they are applied transparently.

HOLY SMOKES

…Among the blocked content were excerpts from essays and open letters by professors and legal experts questioning aspects of vaccine policy, including the constitutionality of a proposed vaccination mandate.

According to the Court of Appeal, such contributions contradicted WHO recommendations and were therefore subject to removal.

Critics are now warning of the establishment of ‘truth ministries.’

Ya think?

…If upheld as precedent, it could establish that freedom of information and expression on social media is contingent on alignment with official sources.

This would effectively invert the principle of free speech, critics say.

Worse, accurate statements challenging institutional narratives could be blocked, while unverified claims consistent with official guidance may proliferate.

…“A general terms and conditions clause that prohibits any criticism of the opinions of the WHO or a national health authority violates freedom of expression at its core and cannot be justified in any case.”

Murswek said the ruling was undemocratic in principle and that it could lead to “truth ministries” regarding certain topics.

Not that LinkedIn in Europe has any worrying tendencies to go along with the government flow… or anything like that.

Maybe if they had someone from LinkedIn EU who thought they could sing, it would have gone the other way.

Real information would have carried the day.

These authoritarians are terrifying, and there’s a whole continent full of them.

No wonder they’re trying to get the weaponized autistics at 4chan under their draconian control.
