Democratic Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner’s campaign manager is stepping back days after beginning work for the congressional contender, according to a statement.

Two people familiar with campaign manager Kevin Brown’s plans told Axios that he is stepping down after only joining Oct. 21. (RELATED: Democratic Senate Candidate Graham Platner Calls For Violence In Now-Deleted Posts)

“Graham is a dear friend,” Brown told Axios in a statement. “I started this campaign Tuesday but found out Friday we have a baby on the way. Graham deserves someone who is 100% in on his race, and we want to lean into this new experience as a family, so it was best we step back sooner rather than later so Graham can get the manager he deserves.”

Before Brown, Daniel Moraff worked as the de facto campaign manager, according to Platner’s former political director Genevieve McDonald, Politico reported. Moraff said he never held the position in any formal capacity in a phone call, according to the outlet.

McDonald previously shared her resignation letter to the Platner campaign with the Bagnor Daily News on Oct. 17. The letter revealed she resigned over posts made by the candidate, saying they “were not known to me when I agreed to join the campaign, and they are not words or values I cand stand behind in a candidate.”

Now-deleted posts included claiming rural white Americans “actually are” stupid and racist, arguing “all” police are bastards and labelling himself a “communist,” according to CNN’s K-FILE.

“My time in America’s imperial wars definitely radicalized me further, and I’m significantly more left today than I was back then. It is difficult to see all that horror, as well as all the grift and corruption, and not find the entire thing utterly bankrupt,” Platner said in a post, according to a screenshot obtained by the outlet. “I did used to love America, or at least the idea of it. These days I’m pretty disgusted by it all.”

“That was very much me fucking around the internet,” Platner told CNN after the posts were brought to light. “I don’t want people to see me for who I was in my worst Internet comment – or even frankly who I was in my best Internet comment … I don’t think any of that is indicative of who I am today, really.”

Platner was also found to have a tattoo resembling a Nazi symbol, which he said he got while on leave with his military friends when they were serving overseas. He also said he had it “covered up.”

Years ago I got a skull and crossbones tattoo with my buddies in the Marine Corps.

I was appalled to learn it closely resembled a Nazi symbol. I altered it yesterday, into something that isn’t deeply offensive to my core beliefs.

The oyster farmer turned senatorial candidate has labeled himself a member of the working class but was recently reported to have attended an expensive out-of-state boarding school. His father was also found to have contributed approximately $60,000 to Democratic candidates and causes, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

Platner has been endorsed by independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and is running against Maine Gov. Janet Mills in the Democratic primary. The winner will challenge Republican incumbent Susan Collins in the 2026 midterm election.

The Daily Caller has reached out to Platner’s campaign for comment.
