Democrats are already threatening to tear down the new ballroom that President Donald Trump is building on the East Wing of the White House. It’s exciting to think about what they are going to do with his latest White House renovation project.
Trump announced Friday that he has completely remodeled the en-suite bathroom that services the historic Lincoln Bedroom. The renovation shouldn’t come as a surprise to the left, as Trump had already revealed that the work had begun during an October press conference detailing his plans for the White House ballroom. At the time, he framed the remodel as a restoration to a style more authentic to Abraham Lincoln’s 19th-century era, simply by replacing the outdated green tiles in the Lincoln bedroom’s bathroom. “We have little things, like at the Lincoln bedroom. The bathroom was done by the Truman family a long time ago. And it’s done in a green tile … in a style that was not exactly Abe Lincoln. It’s a style that’s not good,” Trump said. “It’s actually Art Deco. And Art Deco doesn’t go with 1850 and the Civil War and all of the problems. But what does do is statuary marble. I ripped it apart, and we built a bathroom. It’s, it’s absolutely gorgeous and totally in keeping with that time because the Lincoln bedroom is, uh, so incredible, for those of you that have seen it.”
However, pictures Trump posted Friday on Truth Social appear to show that the bathroom has been completely redone to reflect a modern revival of classical marble elegance.
Trump spoke about his affinity for the Lincoln Bedroom and its history during a viral episode of the Joe Rogan podcast, which aired during the 2024 election. (ROOKE: The Real Reason Trump Renovating White House Buried Underground)
“I was standing there and I said to the guys, I want to see the Lincoln Bedroom. I had never seen the Lincoln Bedroom. I’d heard about the Lincoln Bedroom, and I was standing with my wife, I said, ‘Do you believe it? This is the Lincoln Bedroom.’ I mean, it was like, it was amazing,” Trump told the host while describing the first moments in the White House after winning the 2016 election.
“Because it’s, look, if you love the country, but here you are, the Lincoln Bedroom, and the bed, you know, he was very tall, he was six foot six, which then would be like, like Barron, would be like Barron Trump, he’s six nine, but six foot six, he was very tall, then on top of that he wore, he wore that [top hat],” Trump continued.
It’s hard to see how the left could be angry at something so beautiful. Still, their unhinged reaction to his new ballroom, alongside other updates, like adding gold accents to the Oval Office, paving parts of the Rose Garden to avoid issues with wet grass and high heels, and installing towering flagpoles, seemingly highlights their allergy to taste and anything Trump touches.
