Taxpayer Outrage Grows: All This Fraud ‘Is Boiling My Blood’: Matt Van Swol [WATCH]

Matt Van Swol voiced frustration over what he described as widespread fraud siphoning off taxpayer dollars, saying the ease with which scams operate has left him angry and demoralized as a working American preparing to pay federal income taxes.

In a statement shared after work, Van Swol said he was struck by the realization that a significant portion of his earnings may be lost to fraud, scams, and misuse of public funds.

“I just got off work, and it dawned on me that 30% of everything I made today probably went to some stupid scam, some snap fraud, some Somali daycare, some crazy crap for probably put illegal in a nice hotel today,” Van Swol said.

“I don’t know what I did, but 30% of everything I made went to something insane.”

Van Swol said the realization came after years of personal financial discipline, including saving money, thrift shopping, and taking on do-it-yourself projects instead of spending more.

“And here I thought, you know, saving money was the right thing to do. You know, scrimping, you know, thrift shopping, building, DIY stuff instead,” he said.

“Like, I think I’m just an idiot like these people clearly have no regard for the American taxpayer whatsoever.”

He said fraudulent actors face little resistance or accountability, allowing abuse of taxpayer-funded systems to continue.

“They just take our money and do whatever they want. They open up fraudulent businesses, like, like, it’s easy and it is, and that’s so crazy, and that’s that’s gotta stop,” Van Swol said.

Van Swol argued that taxpayers should not be expected to continue funding government programs until fraud is addressed and reversed.

“Until this stops. None of us should be paying tax dollars like, just go after the fraudsters and get our money back, make sure there’s no fraud occurring, and then we can restart paying taxes,” he said.

He described the situation as deeply discouraging for Americans who work hard and follow the rules.

“But this, this is just, this is insanely demoralizing. As a taxpayer, is demoralizing,” Van Swol said.

Van Swol stressed that his criticism was not directed at legitimate aid programs or Americans in need. He said he supports taxpayer funding for essential services and assistance when properly administered.

“I want my money to go to people who need it. If they do, I do want my money to go to people that are really hungry and need snap,” he said.

“I want my tax dollars to go to that people that can’t afford health care, veterans like I want my tax dollars going to that stuff, infrastructure.”

He said his concern is that taxpayer money is instead being diverted overseas or to criminal activity.

“I don’t want my tax dollars going straight to Somalia or to some terrorist organization. Cut it all out. Just end it right now, because we’re all fed up. I’m fed up,” Van Swol said.

He said the lack of visible accountability has intensified public anger and frustration.

“Just doesn’t feel like anyone’s being held accountable for this fraud,” he said.

Van Swol also pointed to the timing of his remarks, noting the start of the new year and the approaching federal tax deadline.

“And tomorrow is January 1, and we’re all gonna have to pay federal income taxes by the end of April,” he said.

“And I just is boiling my blood when I see all of this fraud and how easy it is to perpetrate it.”

He said fraud involving taxpayer funds should be extremely difficult to carry out, not routine.

“This should be hard, like insanely, impossibly difficult, and it’s very easy and it’s very frustrating for all of us who have put in a lot of hard work to build a life,” Van Swol said.

He closed by returning to the financial impact on ordinary Americans.

“To see 30% of everything we make just going straight to fraudsters sucks,” he said.

THIRTY PERCENT.

I’m so angry.

All this time I’ve been saving, going to school, working hard… for fraudulent Somali daycares?
