Heavily armed federal agents forcibly entered actor Timothy Busfield’s upstate New York home Tuesday in a dramatic raid that took place less than an hour after the actor surrendered to police in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on child sex abuse charges, according to a report.

At least 10 U.S. Marshals assigned to the New York Regional Fugitive Task Force rammed through the front door of Busfield’s residence in Highland Lake, a rural area in the Catskill Mountains roughly 20 minutes from the Pennsylvania border, the Daily Mail reported.

Officers were seen wearing helmets and riot gear and carrying assault rifles as they moved through the property.

The agents searched inside the home for approximately 10 minutes but did not locate anyone inside.

They then proceeded to the rear of the property, where they searched a recreational vehicle and an outhouse, according to the report.

The officers did not appear to remove any items from the property and departed roughly 20 minutes after arriving.

The raid occurred less than an hour after Busfield turned himself in to the Albuquerque Police Department, nearly 2,000 miles away.

Authorities allege Busfield engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with 11-year-old twin boys while directing the Fox television series “The Cleaning Lady” in 2024.

The New York Post reported that Busfield has denied the allegations. In a video message shared by his attorney with TMZ, the 68-year-old actor rejected the claims outright.

“They are all lies, and I did not do anything to those little boys,” Busfield said. “And I’m going to fight it. I’m going to fight it with a great team, and I’m going to be exonerated. I know I am because this is all so wrong and all lies.”

Busfield faces two counts of criminal misconduct against a minor, one count for each child, according to an arrest warrant issued Friday by New Mexico police.

Court documents allege the abuse began in 2022, when the boys were 7 years old.

According to the criminal complaint, the investigation was launched in 2024 after a physician at the University of New Mexico Hospital contacted law enforcement to report suspected sexual abuse following a medical examination of one of the children.

Busfield is married to former child actress Melissa Gilbert and has appeared in numerous television and film productions, including “The West Wing” and “Field of Dreams.”

His attorney, Larry Stein, told The Post that the allegations stem from personal retaliation rather than evidence.

Stein claimed the boys’ mother told an actress on the New Mexico set that she wanted payback after her sons were written out of the show’s final season.

Attorneys representing Warner Bros., which produced “The Cleaning Lady,” told investigators that an earlier independent investigation into the allegations found no evidence supporting the claims, according to the complaint.

The case has already had professional consequences for Busfield. NBC has pulled a previously scheduled episode of “Law & Order: SVU” that featured the actor, and additional legal and civil proceedings related to past allegations have resurfaced following the issuance of the arrest warrant.

As of Tuesday, federal authorities had not explained why agents raided the New York residence after Busfield had already surrendered in New Mexico. The investigation remains ongoing.
