President Donald Trump criticized job creation under former President Joe Biden, arguing that employment gains during the Biden-Harris administration were inflated by government hiring rather than genuine private-sector growth. In remarks focusing on economic policy and workforce expansion, Trump contrasted those figures with job creation during his own presidency, which he said came entirely from the private sector.

Trump said that a significant portion of jobs added under Biden were government positions, which he argued do not reflect real economic strength.

“Under Biden, one out of four jobs added was a government job. Think of that. So 25% of the jobs added, that’s when you when you know that that’s 25% of jobs aren’t real jobs,” Trump said.

He continued by arguing that expanding government payrolls can artificially reduce unemployment figures without improving productivity or wealth creation.

“But again, I could do that. I could add 2 million jobs right now would have an unemployment I could say, just hire some more people,” Trump said.

Trump said his approach was the opposite, emphasizing efficiency and private-sector expansion rather than growing government.

“I do the opposite. I say, get rid of everybody. That’s unnecessary, because that’s the way you make America great again,” he said.

Trump criticized what he described as unnecessary government employment, saying it burdens taxpayers while failing to contribute to economic growth.

“When you have, you know, all these jobs where people are sitting around doing nothing and they get a lot of money by the government, it’s no good,” Trump said. “But that’s what the Democrats do.”

He also challenged how Democrats highlight unemployment rates, arguing that the numbers are misleading when driven by government hiring.

“They show, oh, we were at 4% unemployment. That’s a good number, but they just add jobs, or they wouldn’t cut, they would never cut jobs,” Trump said.

Trump then contrasted that approach with job creation during his presidency, asserting that all new employment came from the private sector.

“Under Trump, 100% of all new jobs created have been in the private sector. Think of that now. 1% has gone to federal so under Biden, one out of four was a government job,” he said.

He reiterated the comparison and tied private-sector growth directly to national strength and prosperity.

“Under Trump, 100% of the new jobs created, 100% came from the private sector. That’s how you make your country wealthy and strong and good,” Trump said.
