Virginia’s ‘Make Fraud Legal’ Bill

Well, it doesn’t get more obvious than this. Virginia Democrats are so jealous that backward states like Minnesota and Maine have become proficient at fraud and corruption that they are competing for ways to make Virginia the world leader in corruption in government. 

This bill literally prohibits the state from verifying eligibility for federal public benefits when nonprofits distribute them, which essentially turns Virginia into a blind pass-through for federal aid.

We’re about to see a bunch of “Learing Centers” pop up in Fairfax County.

This bill hits the high notes: federal funds, NGOs, and illegal aliens being shoveled money in the least accountable manner possible. 

Really, all it needs to be complete is free airline tickets for couriers to carry a million dollars or more out of the country on international flights, first class, of course.

The 2025 election is a perfect reminder that elections have consequences, and that any person who believes that there is such a thing as a moderate Democrat anymore is whistling past the graveyard. 

What’s so striking about this bill is not that anybody is trying to sneak something like this through; if it were 2022 or 2023, they could probably do so without anybody noticing, which is why the corruption has been so difficult to discover. 

What’s shocking is that anybody is trying to do this NOW, in 2026, in the midst of the largest fraud scandals in world history. If Trump is able to push through full investigations in this term, I think it is more than likely that we will find the scale of fraud is in the TRILLIONS of dollars throughout our government programs, and that the Somalis are just a small part of a much larger problem. 

And, as has been the case at USAID, in Minnesota, California, Washington, Maine, Ohio, and probably every state, it is always the NGOs who serve as the conduits. Not that the government doesn’t cut checks directly to fraudsters, because local, state, and federal governments all DO cut checks to all sorts of fraud every day. 

But nonprofits are likely the best conduit, because the money goes into a big black hole, and people have this bizarre idea that nonprofits are where well-meaning people do good things for needy people. That is how they are sold to us, and some, in fact, do do good things. But really, how naive are you to believe that human nature goes out the window as soon as you move into a “nonprofit”? Really?!

10% of the private workforce is in nonprofits. About 6% of the US economy is, although it is a much higher fraction of the economy when you limit the scope to the private sector. 

And there is very little scrutiny. Checks are cut, and the money disappears into a black hole. That’s how you wind up with billions disappearing. 

So you have to admire the chutzpah of a Virginia state delegate dropping in a bill to make the whole process of committing fraud even easier. 

Everybody is looking for fraud, so the Democrats there decided to make finding it even harder. 

So on brand.
