New Footage of Alex Pretti Attacking Law Enforcement Completely Shifts the Narrative [WATCH]

Newly released video appears to show Alex Pretti spitting at federal agents and damaging a government vehicle days before he was fatally shot by U.S. Border Patrol agents during an enforcement operation in Minneapolis.

The video, released Wednesday by The News Movement and reportedly recorded on Jan. 13, shows a man resembling Pretti wearing a beard, glasses, and clothing similar to what he was wearing at the time of his death.

The footage shows the man shouting at federal agents, spitting toward them, and kicking the taillight of a federal SUV, causing visible damage.

In the video, the man repeatedly shouts profanities and flashes both middle fingers toward the agents.

Several agents then exit the vehicle, approach him, and take him to the ground.

During the confrontation, agents deployed pepper balls and tear gas toward a nearby crowd of demonstrators as the situation escalated.

The man was eventually released by agents at the scene.

After stepping away from law enforcement, what appears to be a firearm can be seen in the man’s waistband.

Despite the confrontation, he did not leave the area and instead remained with other demonstrators who continued shouting obscenities at federal officers.

Alex Pretti’s family later confirmed to The Minnesota Star Tribune that the individual shown in the video was Alex Pretti.

Pretti’s family attorney, Steve Schleicher, said the events captured in the video had no connection to the shooting that occurred days later.

“A week before Alex was gunned down in the street – despite posing no threat to anyone – he was violently assaulted by a group of ICE agents,” Schleicher told Fox News.

“Nothing that happened a full week before could possibly have justified Alex’s killing at the hands of ICE on Jan. 24.”

Pretti, 37, worked as an intensive care unit nurse at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

He was shot and killed by Border Patrol agents while recording federal immigration enforcement operations in Minneapolis on Jan. 24.

Video footage from the shooting appears to show Pretti attempting to assist a woman who had been knocked to the ground by agents.

Moments later, he was sprayed with a chemical irritant, forced to the pavement, and struck by agents.

Authorities said that during the encounter, an agent removed what they described as a suspected firearm — a 9mm pistol — from Pretti’s waistband.

Other agents then opened fire, discharging nearly a dozen rounds.

Officials stated that one Border Patrol agent fired a CBP-issued Glock 19, while another agent fired a CBP-issued Glock 47.

Prior to the shooting, Border Patrol agents were conducting enforcement operations in the area as civilians gathered nearby, shouting and blowing whistles.

Authorities said the crowd was instructed to remain on the sidewalk to avoid interfering with law enforcement activity.

According to officials, Pretti resisted when agents attempted to take him into custody, leading to a physical struggle.

During that struggle, an unidentified Border Patrol agent can be heard repeatedly shouting that the man was armed.

The shooting of Pretti marked the second fatal incident in Minneapolis in recent weeks involving federal immigration agents.

Both incidents occurred amid heightened tensions surrounding enforcement operations and repeated clashes between federal officers and anti-ICE demonstrators in the city.

Investigations into the shooting remain ongoing, with authorities continuing to review body camera footage, witness statements, and other evidence related to the encounter.
