Border Czar Tom Homan said President Trump’s immigration enforcement policy has remained consistent since the start of his second term, rejecting claims that the administration has softened its approach and pointing to what he described as record-setting deportation numbers.

Homan addressed the issue while responding to reports and public commentary suggesting the administration had backed away from its enforcement agenda.

He said those claims are inaccurate and conflict with both public statements and enforcement data.

“President wants to de escalate the situation, and they set the record straight, because my staff said it’s seen a lot of people that say President Trump’s backing off and has promised a mass deportation,” Homan said. “That’s just untrue.”

Homan said the message coming from the White House has been the same since President Trump returned to office.

“My message up there was the same message that’s been since January 20, when President Trump took the Oval Office,” he said.

“We’re going to have a mass deportation, but we’re going to prioritize the arrest of criminals and public safety threats.”

Homan emphasized that immigration enforcement under the Trump administration is focused first on individuals who pose threats to public safety, but he said no one in the country unlawfully is exempt from enforcement actions.

“I’d said from day one, if you’re in the country legally, you’re not off the table,” Homan said.

He pointed to deportation statistics as evidence that the administration is actively enforcing immigration law and not retreating from its stated goals.

“I looked at the numbers just about 15 minutes coach Sean, President Trump’s been in office just over a year, we got over 700,000 deportations between the border tonight,” Homan said. “That’s a record.”

Homan said the current pace of deportations exceeds anything he has seen during his time in Washington and compared it to historical benchmarks.

“I’ve been in DC about 15-16, years,” he said. “I’ve overseen more deportations than any other man since the Eisenhower administration.”

According to Homan, the administration’s strategy reflects what he described as a deliberate approach centered on enforcement priorities rather than indiscriminate action.

“So if anybody thinks that Tom Heilman of President Trump is in serious about immigration enforcement and having a mass deportation, then they weren’t paying attention to the press conference prioritization of smart law enforcement,” Homan said.

He reiterated that individuals found to be in the country unlawfully should not assume they are protected from removal.

“But if you’re in a country legally, you’re not off the table and we’ll find you too and deport you too,” Homan said.
