Dan Bongino delivered a forceful defense of federal crime-fighting efforts carried out under the direction of President Donald Trump, arguing that those actions dramatically reduced homicide rates in major liberal cities while being ignored or attacked by liberals and the media.
Bongino said his work was never about partisan politics, but about public safety and measurable results, even in cities where voters overwhelmingly oppose Republicans.
“You know, to the libs and their media pals, you know, liberals out there. You know, when you guys, you’ve always hated me, the feelings probably mutual. I don’t like you guys either. You know, I would like to think when I went in there, I had, you know, an open mind. I didn’t go in there with any partisan intent,” Bongino said.

He said arrests and enforcement actions were carried out in liberal cities not to gain political advantage, but because stopping violent crime was the job.
“And the people we arrested, where we crushed the crime rate in largely liberal cities, we didn’t do it to score political points. No one’s voting for anyone I support in these liberal cities. Anyway, we did it because the job matters,” he said.
Bongino accused liberals and media figures of refusing to acknowledge the impact of the crime reduction effort, despite what he described as historic declines in homicides.
“So liberals and their media pals, you can get your lips and just pucker them up and plant a big wet one on my ass, because you, you guys, would just rather see people dead,” Bongino said.

He emphasized that the reduction in homicide rates has had a real and measurable effect on saving lives.
“It’s incredible at the homicide rate. Jim, what happens in a homicide? What happens to people? Somebody dies, they’re freaking dead. It’s amazing. Like a lot of people aren’t dead, because the homicide rates the lowest it’s been in modern US history,” Bongino said.
Bongino credited the decline largely to enforcement strategies directed by President Trump, including aggressive use of federal tools to target violent offenders.
“Not exclusively because of the work we did, but largely because of the work we did at the direction of the President, expanding the use of you fap warrants, vicar cases, Rico cases, gang members who shoot people we want locked up,” he said.
He also pointed to federal immigration enforcement as a key component of the strategy, particularly the removal of violent criminals who entered the country illegally.
“I just showed you the montage chalk line, the Kensington drug market, all this stuff, the illegal immigration push, title aiding violent criminals using title eight, excuse me, to get them out of the country,” Bongino said.
According to Bongino, the data shows that a small number of repeat offenders are responsible for a disproportionate share of violent crime, and removing them from the streets produces immediate results.
“How did this? Gee, I don’t know. Dip shits. How did it happen when, point 5% of the population commits 50 to 70% of the violent crime, and they’ve most of them have been arrested between eight and 12 times before. That’s what the data shows,” he said.
He argued that incarceration and deportation prevent further violence against Americans.
“When you go out and you lock these violent animals up, they can’t kill people because they’re in jail. Well, they could kill people in jail, but not on the street. When you deport them, they can kill people, but not here,” Bongino said.
Bongino said his responsibility is to protect U.S. citizens, regardless of criticism.
“I don’t want them killing anyone, but I don’t want them killing us citizens. I work for the United States government,” he said.
He concluded by accusing the media of being disconnected from reality and unwilling to acknowledge the role federal law enforcement played in lowering violent crime.
“Crime rate, violent crime rate, homicide rate, plunged by 20% what the hell? And the media totally divorced from reality. These people would rather see you dead then for a second acknowledge that this FBI not. I’m not talking about the prior ones that these people, that we had anything to do with it at all. They don’t give a shit,” Bongino said.
