A heated exchange unfolded during a public meeting in Philadelphia as grassroots activist John McCauley confronted Democratic leadership over crime, illegal immigration, and what he described as years of failed policies in the city.

McCauley, identifying himself as part of the organization Flip Philly Red, delivered remarks sharply critical of Democratic control in Philadelphia and urged federal lawmakers to take action on immigration enforcement.

“My name is John McCauley. I’m with a grassroots organization called Flip Philly Red. We’re here to give something different to Philadelphia, something that y’all are not used to because you’ve been voting Democrat for the Mayor’s Office for the past 70 years,” McCauley said.

McCauley rejected claims that supporters of the Make America Great Again movement are responsible for rising crime, pointing instead to carjackings and shootings he said have gone unaddressed under Democratic leadership.

“It’s not Maga who’s doing all of the carjacking and the shootings when we talk about ICE when 78 million people seven swing states, including Pennsylvania, we voted for this. We voted for this. We gave a mandate,” he said.

He directly called on Pennsylvania’s U.S. senators to back specific legislation.

“So I want to sit here and tell us, Senator John Fetterman, us, Senator Dave McCormick to vote yes and support HR, 7147,” McCauley said.

McCauley expressed anger over what he characterized as selective attention to victims of violent crime, referencing several cases involving illegal aliens and accusing Democratic figures of ignoring those victims.

“I sit here in disgust as I watch Kendra Books, Jamie Gutierrez hold up pictures of a domestic terrorist, Renee Good,” McCauley said.

“I never seen her put up a picture of DaCara Thompson, a 19 year old who was raped and murdered by an illegal alien and thrown over a bridge. I never seen her put up a picture of Laken Riley, who was raped and murdered. I never seen her. Put up a picture of Larisha Thompson, a mother. I named two black women, by the way, and y’all sit here and pander to white liberal women like Renee Good.”

At one point, City Council President Kenyatta Johnson attempted to steer the discussion back to the specific item under consideration.

“Could you speak on the on the resolution,” Johnson asked.

McCauley pushed back, insisting his remarks were directly related and protected speech.

“I’m speaking on all of it. It’s my first my first amendment right. I’m gonna speak. It all goes hand in hand,” McCauley said.

He went on to outline his position on immigration enforcement and deportations, blaming the Biden and Harris administration for the scale of illegal immigration.

“We wanted to fund, we want to fund, to deport 20 million illegal aliens that was imported in here by the Biden and Harris administration with the help of the cartels,” McCauley said.

He closed his remarks by urging elected officials to prioritize citizens over illegal aliens.

“So once, y’all stand up for Americans, for once, because America comes first,” he said.
