The Department of Homeland Security fired a senior U.S. Customs and Border Protection official on Thursday after determining the official allegedly leaked sensitive personnel information and internal negotiations related to the border wall to members of the press, according to sources within the department, as reported by Fox News.

Sources told Fox News Digital that the unnamed official was escorted out of his CBP office in Washington, D.C., after the department identified the alleged leaks.

The information reportedly included personal details about CBP personnel as well as internal discussions surrounding border wall negotiations.

A DHS spokesperson confirmed the firing and cited the heightened threat environment facing federal law enforcement officers.

“As DHS law enforcement face an 8,000% increase in death threats, leaking law enforcement sensitive information is abhorrently dangerous,” the spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

“DHS is agnostic about your standing, tenure, political appointment, or status as a career civil servant — we will track down leakers and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.”

The termination comes just days after a Fox News Digital investigation revealed the existence of an underground communications network used by anti-U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agitators operating across the country.

According to that investigation, tactics employed by these groups include the doxxing of federal agents, tracking license plates, and publicly releasing personal information tied to law enforcement officers.

Fox News Digital reported that at least 13 database systems are known to store sensitive data connected to federal agents.

The information includes photographs, uniform details, behavior patterns, phone numbers, and other personal identifiers.

Last week, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that the agency is investigating Signal messaging chats that have allegedly been used to coordinate efforts to obstruct and confront federal agents in Minneapolis and in other cities nationwide.

Sources at DHS said it remains unclear whether the CBP official who was fired had any involvement with Signal group activities. Department officials confirmed only that the official had allegedly leaked information to the press.

The Fox News Digital investigation also found that sensitive law enforcement information has played a central role in motivating vigilante-style agitators to travel to demonstration sites across the country.

According to the report, a nationwide network of hundreds of anti-ICE groups operates a “rapid response” system designed to train civilians and mobilize them quickly.

Federal law enforcement officers have reportedly clashed with trained and allegedly well-funded agitators on multiple occasions.

These encounters have resulted in assaults on agents, raising concerns about potential physical and deadly consequences for both officers and civilians involved.

One recent case involved Kyle Wagner, a Minneapolis resident who has described himself as an Antifa member. Wagner was arrested after allegedly encouraging followers to attack ICE agents.

In a video obtained by Fox News Digital, Wagner is heard telling followers they should “get your guns” and identify agents.

Self-described Antifa who calls himself Kyle shamefully calls on people to get guns and attack ICE.

He says he’s in Minneapolis and close to where the incident on Saturday happened.

In announcing Wagner’s arrest, Attorney General Pam Bondi said Wagner “allegedly doxxed and called for the murder of law enforcement officers, encouraged bloodshed in the streets, and proudly claimed affiliation with the terrorist organization Antifa before going on the run.”

Federal authorities said Wagner’s case, along with the broader communications network allegedly used to organize confrontations with ICE agents, is under investigation by multiple federal agencies.

The firing of the senior CBP official marks the latest development involving the exposure of federal law enforcement identities, a practice officials warn could place agents and their families at risk.
