It looks like things are happening but it’s not really clear what they mean yet. First, one of the outlets that received the first ransom note was TMZ. That note contained an account where the Guthrie family was told to make a ransom payment. TMZ has been watching that account ever since and, as of yesterday, which was the 2nd deadline for payment, they were saying they hadn’t seen any activity.
Just a few minutes ago, Harvey Levin appeared on CNN and said he’d just seen some activity on that account. He wouldn’t offer any more detail but it sounds like he’s suggesting the ransom may have bene paid.

Secondly, TMZ has a story up today saying that law enforcement believes the kidnapper is a local.
Potentially big development in the Nancy Guthrie abduction … our law enforcement sources say whoever kidnapped her from her Arizona home is also from the Tucson area.
Multiple sources involved in the investigation tell TMZ … the operating theory is that the ransom notes were written by the kidnapper, and those notes provide clues on where the abductor lives.
Third, FBI agents were seen checking an area around Annie Guthrie’s home. I think they have searched this area at least twice before.

Finally, as mentioned in the tweets above, while this search was still ongoing, SWAT vehicles were seen leaving the Pima County Sheriff’s Office. Fox is reporting that activity is connected to the Guthrie case but they don’t seem to know where those trucks were going. Does this mean they have a suspect’s location?
BREAKING NEWS: Two SWAT armored vehicles have just departed the Pima County Sheriff’s parking lot, though it is unclear if the movement is related to investigation surrounding Nancy Guthrie.

That’s all I have for now. It seems like things are happening but I have no idea if we’re going to get an announcement or even an arrest tonight. If there is another development tonight I’ll post it below.
