Do Wes Moore’s Lies Mean Anything?

Wes Moore is supposed to be the Democrats’ great Black hope, or at least one of them. Having just been elected the first black Governor of Maryland, he is setting his sights on higher office. He clearly has presidential ambitions, and many people see him as a viable candidate, although he is competing with Cory Booker in the “Obama-lite,” heroic black man lane in the race for the nomination.

Moore, like Booker, has cultivated a rather cinematic version of his life and background, and, as with Booker, his rapid rise in status has generated considerable interest in his backstory and whether it matches the image he projects. It’s the sort of informal vetting that always takes place when somebody enters the national stage, unless, as in the last presidential election, time is too short.

Usually, even Democrats who enter the national spotlight are put under the klieg lights for a bit to test their mettle. Ask “Pocohontas” Elizabeth Warren about how easy it is to hide embarrassing falsehoods.

Well, Wes Moore is getting the same sort of treatment Warren got, and I suspect he will survive it as she did. The slings and arrows will sting and even wound, but likely not kill.

I’m not going to do a deep dive into Moore’s deceptions about his past, which are so numerous that one has to wonder whether he is capable of telling the truth about ANYTHING, but the most recent ding on his credibility is his lies about his grandfather being chased out of the country by the KKK. It is so “on the nose” with the current Narrative™ that it works well to pull the heartstrings of his liberal audiences, and so on the nose but provably false that it makes the rest of us roll our eyes.

Only people who believe Jussie Smollett and insist that he really was telling the truth still believe Moore isn’t lying.

But Moore’s lies don’t interest me that much in themselves. It’s where they fit into a pattern that we see quite often in politics, and that has now become the norm in Democratic Party politics in particular. The people who rise to the top do so on the back of stories that are, once you look into them, total fiction. Often, even their names are invented for political effect, such as Bill de Blasio.

A privileged kid who had the audacity to lie to get places, and wants to be our next president.

Wes Moore was born to media professionals in a nice MD suburb. After his father died, they moved to NYC where he attended Riverdale Country School, a fancy schmancy private school in…

The saying that politics is “Hollywood for ugly people” has never been truer than in recent years. And it is not accidental that Hollywood and the Democratic Party have become especially cozy.

Even the January 6th hearings were literally “produced” by a former president of ABC News and a team led by him. They wanted maximum impact through developing a theme and storyline to craft a compelling Narrative™, so they hired the best guy they could find to produce the propaganda.

MUST READ: Maryland Democrat lawmakers say Wes Moore can’t govern effectively, despite having supermajorities in both chambers of the General Assembly, because he’s inexperienced and arrogant.

Truly the most incompetent Governor in the nation.https://t.co/koybWJgOey

Barack Obama was a “created” candidate, with an autobiography that turned out to be a fictionalized version of his life, including invented characters. He was a chameleon, changing his colors throughout his rise to power. At various times, he came from various places, and the whole “Obama birther” phenomenon had its roots in the fact that he told multiple stories about where he was from, depending upon what best served him at the time.

Apparently asking basic questions about glaring holes in Wes Moore’s bio is “the politics of personal destruction.”

Oxford has no record of him writing a thesis he used to get a prestigious White House fellowship –

How dare they engage in the politics of personal destruction. https://t.co/wvAX97Hl2y

Booker’s life story is, at least somewhat, mythologized in a similar way, although he has probably taken fewer liberties with the facts than either Moore or Obama.

And Biden? He is a master fabulist. One has to wonder whether even HE ever knew what was true or false about his life. Elizabeth Warren famously lied her… derriere…off to climb the ladder. Pow Wow Chow and all that.

It’s all a production, and while there has always been some of that in politics—it’s the nature of the game—the Democrats are now 100% into the idea that truth is what they say it is, and that the goal of politics is to create a Truman Show.

Perhaps it is a product of their near-complete control of the cultural means of production, and it is certainly consistent with the Critical Theory idea of what constitutes reality. Reality is a construction of the Will, and is set by those with the power to do so. And since the Democrats own Pravda and Hollywood, and of course the educational institutions, they believe they control reality. It’s also why they are so dedicated to censorship.

Republicans rarely have the ability to mythologize their backstories, although I am certain they wouldn’t mind if they could get away with it. Trump has mastered the art of hyperbole and entertainment, but you certainly can’t argue that he has been blessed by an ability to construct a prettied-up version of himself.

Instead, he leans into the image the media created of him and uses their attacks in a form of jiu-jitsu. His followers revel in his bad-boy image and make fun of his detractors. He is an entertainer, but hardly a mythologized figure. Senator John Kennedy can use his quick wit and entertaining style to build a profile, but his charm lies in the fact that he is exactly what you see.

Democrats rely almost entirely on deception. Gavin Newsom, the poor boy made good, attended ritzy schools and was staked by the Getty Oil family. Fossil fuels literally made him the man he is today. All the champions of the working class have made out like bandits in politics.

Kamala Harris? Brat Summer, anyone? “Joy!”

In context, Wes Moore’s lies are business as usual with Democrats these days. It’s not that their image is carefully crafted—the best politicians craft their images—it’s that they are entirely fake. Everything is a fraud. Abigail Spanberger was a moderate until she won. Now look at her. Tim Walz even ran as a moderate, and look at him.

Democratic Party voters seem to love the stories. Ok, fine. Love a great story.

I just wish they cared about the results of their choices. Obviously, they don’t.

Editor’s note: If we thought our job in pushing back against the Academia/media/Democrat censorship complex was over with the election, think again. This is going to be a long fight.
