Megyn Kelly Predicts Brutal Future for CNN’s Abby Phillip [WATCH]

SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly criticized CNN anchor Abby Phillip during a Thursday episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” saying Phillip should be fired and accusing her of biased coverage.

Kelly aired footage of Phillip discussing comments made by Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez regarding whether the United States should send troops to protect Taiwan if China invades. During the segment, Phillip responded to criticism of Ocasio-Cortez by raising President Donald Trump’s record of public statements.

“Are we going to really pretend that the actual president of the United States has not made similar or perhaps worse flubs?” Phillip said.

Kelly responded directly to Phillip during her program.

“Are we really going to pretend that you’re the answer to CNN’s need for fair and balanced coverage and new audience? Because you’re failing. No one watches you,” Kelly said.

“Your audience has been cut to below 400,000, which is a complete embarrassment. You ought to be fired, and your cocky, smug sense of self ought to be wiped away in one ratings period because no one watches you. What does it say that you’re the most interesting thing on CNN and literally nobody’s watching you? You don’t have a long job trajectory, sweetheart,” Kelly continued.

She further criticized Phillip’s on-air style and handling of panel discussions.

“And when you eventually get fired as your network implodes and try to go out into the independent lane, you will fail there too because all you do is speak in a monotone and say things that attack President Trump while trying to sound reasonable, but not being reasonable and constantly cutting off the one conservative on your panel and showing slight indignation whenever they make a good point for the — I mean, who could listen to this woman? It’s horrible,” Kelly said.

“She’s got more people on her panel than she does audience members,” she added.

Audience data cited during the dispute shows that Phillip’s nightly program “CNN NewsNight” has consistently drawn well over 700,000 viewers since Jan. 15, according to ustvdb.com.

From Dec. 30 to Jan. 12, the show drew over 500,000 viewers each night.

Kelly also referenced a separate controversy involving left-wing podcaster Jennifer Welch.

Welch made comments about White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller during an October episode of her “I’ve Had It” podcast while Phillip was a guest. Welch referred to Miller as a “Nazi Jew,” and Kelly argued that Phillip did not challenge the remark during the exchange.

“You’re such an a**hole! I’m sorry, but Abby Phillip is a f**king a**hole! She let her call him a Nazi Jew and just said, ‘I’m sorry, but I can’t speak to what his motivations are.’ What a cowardly dodge, just to try to maintain some semblance of objectivity,” Kelly said.

“The only proper response to that is, ‘Come on, hold it. Hold it. We can criticize his immigration policy all day long if you want. Don’t call him a Nazi Jew. That’s disgusting,’” Kelly added.
