Democratic congressional candidate Jack Schlossberg defended his recent social media posts targeting Vice President J.D. Vance’s wife during an appearance on “CBS News Sunday Morning,” as he campaigns to replace retiring Rep. Jerry Nadler in New York’s 12th Congressional District, as reported by Fox News.

Schlossberg, the grandson of former President John F. Kennedy, has drawn criticism for posts that some described as “creepy” and polarizing.

Among them was an image in which he superimposed his face onto one of Usha Vance’s children.

During the interview, CBS asked Schlossberg about the posts and whether he believed he had crossed a line by involving the vice president’s wife. Schlossberg rejected that characterization.

“I think what’s crossing a line is the propaganda that we see issued every single day by the White House and Vance,” Schlossberg replied.

“So, what are we going to do, hold back? Hold back on our sense of humor and not tease them, make fun of them back?”

He further addressed criticism over a separate post that referenced a “love child,” dismissing the suggestion that it was meant to be taken seriously.

“First of all, I don’t think anyone was seriously thinking that I meant that we did actually have a love child! You can point at anything I posted, I will point you back at a president who shares pictures of himself bombing U.S. citizens with fecal matter. This is a new era we’re living in,” Schlossberg said.

Schlossberg also encouraged fellow Democrats to escalate their rhetoric in opposition to the Trump administration. He cited past attacks on members of his own family as justification for his approach.

“My grandmother wasn’t elected; my Uncle John wasn’t elected. People feel absolute free reign to say whatever they want about them. So, I’m gonna throw it right back at you. Because you know what? The time is not now to hold back, sit on your hands and say, ‘Hmm, okay. Well, why don’t we just play it safe?’ Absolutely not! We’re gonna get these people out of here,” Schlossberg said.

He reiterated that Democrats should adopt a more forceful posture in public messaging.

“You need to be aggressive right now to get your message through,” Schlossberg said.

Schlossberg is seeking the Democratic nomination to succeed Nadler, who is retiring from his seat representing New York’s 12th Congressional District.

He is among several Democratic figures who have adopted a sharper tone on social media as part of their political strategy.

Fox News Digital reached out to the vice president’s office for comment on Schlossberg’s remarks but did not immediately receive a response.

Schlossberg’s comments come as political tensions continue to play out both on the campaign trail and across social media platforms.

His defense of the posts signals that he intends to maintain his current approach as the race for Nadler’s seat moves forward.
