Dr. Phil Calls Out Mamdani and His Wife Over Backing October 7 Slaughter of Jews [WATCH]

Television host Dr. Phil McGraw criticized New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani over social media activity tied to the mayor’s wife, Rama Duwaji, following the October 7 terrorist attack in Israel.

The criticism centers on reports that Duwaji liked several Instagram posts shortly after the attacks that included content celebrating the Hamas assault and promoting anti-Israel rhetoric.

The posts reportedly included claims disputing aspects of the October 7 attack.

Dr. Phil addressed the issue during a segment discussing the controversy, arguing that the actions of a political leader’s spouse can draw public scrutiny when the leader holds a high-profile office.

“For most Americans, it’s nobody’s business who you share your bed with,” Dr. Phil said.

“But that changes when you’re married to one of the most powerful politicians in America.”

He referenced Mamdani and Duwaji directly while discussing the situation.

“I’m talking about New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his wife Rama Duwaji,” Dr. Phil said.

Dr. Phil said that the spouse of the mayor of the nation’s largest city inevitably faces greater attention due to the public nature of the position.

“Now being the spouse of the mayor of the largest city in America comes with a certain level of responsibility and scrutiny, and right now, Duwaji deserves just a lot of that scrutiny,” Dr. Phil said.

During the segment, Dr. Phil cited reporting regarding the posts Duwaji reportedly liked on Instagram following the Hamas attack on Israel.

“Report from the Jewish Insider,” Dr. Phil said. “Duwaji liked Instagram posts just hours after the October 7 attacks on Israel that celebrated Hamas assault and pushed anti Israeli rhetoric.”

He described some of the content that was reportedly liked.

“She liked one post claiming the October 7 mass rape was a hoax, and another showing Hamas militants breaking into Israel with tanks,” Dr. Phil said.

Dr. Phil also referenced the scale of the October 7 attack.

“And in case anyone has forgotten, on October 7, Hamas terrorists murdered over 1200 people and took more than 250 hostages,” Dr. Phil said.

He argued that support for such actions contradicts claims of supporting human rights.

“It doesn’t matter how strongly someone supports the Palestinian cause, anyone who likes what happened on October 7 is not standing for human rights,” Dr. Phil said. “They’re standing with terror.”

Mayor Mamdani addressed the controversy when asked about the issue and defended his wife, describing her as a private individual not involved in his official duties.

“You know, my wife is the love of my life, and she’s also a private person who has held no formal position on my campaign or in my city hall,” Mamdani said.

Dr. Phil responded to the mayor’s statement by arguing that the spouse of a major political figure cannot be viewed entirely as a private individual when their actions intersect with public issues.

“But let’s get real and talk about the real story,” Dr. Phil said.

He said that the role of a mayor’s spouse can carry public implications when the mayor governs a city the size of New York.

“When you’re the spouse of the mayor of the largest city in America and you’re supporting the murder of hundreds of innocent Jews,” Dr. Phil said.

Dr. Phil said such matters are no longer private when they involve public figures connected to political leadership.

“Trust me, that’s not private, that’s public,” Dr. Phil said.

He concluded by arguing that public silence or defense of controversial actions tied to terrorism can send a broader message.

“And Mayor Mamdani, hear this clearly,” Dr. Phil said.

“When terror is excused. Silence isn’t neutrality, it’s complicity, and that’s the real story.”
