Democrats Respond by Voting Down Balanced Budget Amendment [WATCH]

Rep. Tim Burchett spoke about a recent vote in the House of Representatives involving a proposed Balanced Budget Amendment introduced by Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona, highlighting the outcome and criticizing opposition to the measure.

Burchett described the proposal and the context surrounding it, saying, “My buddy Andy Biggs out of out of Arizona running for governor over just a super good conservative straight lace.”

He added, “He proposed a bill to a balanced budget amendment.”

He pointed to the national debt as a key factor in the discussion, stating, “If we hit $39 trillion in debt yesterday, if you can imagine a 39 trillion no plan to pay any of it back.”

Burchett said the vote results reflected a lack of support from Democrats, explaining, “Every single Democrat, except for one, except for one, voted against it.”

Burchett criticized the opposition to the amendment, saying, “So don’t let any of these folks start throwing any of this stuff about how we’re spending all this dadgum money.”

He added, “They don’t want to put any guardrails in? Nothing, nothing.”

He continued, “They want it wide open.”

He described the outcome in blunt terms, stating, “And it’s just pathetic.”

He added, “We should do so much better.”

Burchett also raised concerns about the lack of media coverage surrounding the vote, saying, “Nobody’s talking about it.”

He continued, “The traditional media, I don’t believe they there was a blip about it yesterday, nothing.”

He added, “They’re all in on it.”

He concluded by calling for broader attention to fiscal issues and responsibility, stating, “We got to take our country back, folks, and it’s not just party politics, it’s just common sense, fiscal responsibility.”

Burchett also expressed appreciation to his supporters, saying, “Thank y’all for sending me here.”

He added, “Please pray for our country.”
