Trump has no plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Out of desperation, he’s now making an existential threat to Iran.

The announcement has just come straight from the president.

And the Iranians have to guarantee safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz as part of the agreement.

I have a feeling there were several things moving the Iranians along in this direction if they wanted to have any hope of saving their miserable, murderous skins. The US and Israelis started smacking industrial installations this evening, for one thing.

B-52s were also noted leaving RAF Fairford within the flight window to arrive over Iran at Trump’s ultimatum zero hour.

All of this pressure added impetus to the President’s warning that now or never was upon them.

It seems they’ve chosen ‘now’…for now. Even as they surrounded power plants and infrastructure sites with snaking lines of women and children waving regime flags as human security shields.

Let’s be perfectly honest – there’s always the chance that these long-time double-dealers will attempt a double-cross. But everything is in place to blast them truly back to the Stone Age at a moment’s notice, and Trump is the man to do it should they dare.

So I am not quite as concerned about the possibility of another football yank as I would be were it anyone else in that Oval Office chair. But I would not put it past them.

It’s in their DNA.

The difference is that winning is in Trump’s.

So far, the reaction is positive, from probably everyone but Democrats.
