A Chicago man identified as Alexander “Xander” Kazanowski, 25, died after being attacked outside a bar in the city’s Avondale neighborhood, as police continue searching for four persons of interest connected to the case, as reported by The New York Post.

Authorities said Kazanowski was found unresponsive around 3:20 a.m. on March 25 after suffering blunt force trauma.

He was transported to a local hospital, where he died several days later, according to officials.

The Chicago Police Department has opened a homicide investigation into the incident and released surveillance footage showing four individuals they want to question.

Officials described the group as three African-American males and one Asian female.

The individuals have not been taken into custody.

According to WGN-TV, Kazanowski had been inside a bar prior to the incident and was allegedly asked to leave after making several comments.

After exiting the establishment, he reportedly exchanged words with a group outside before being discovered in critical condition.

Security video released by police shows the four persons of interest entering the bar, identified as Tune-Up, on the night of the attack.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the footage was recorded before or after the assault.

Cook County Crime Stoppers said Kazanowski’s injuries were consistent with a fatal beating.

Kazanowski, an Illinois-based model, had worked on wedding and bridal shoots and also identified himself as the chief executive officer and founder of a Chicago-area company called Wurk, which provides household services.

His partner, Tori, shared a tribute following his death.

“To my favorite pool playing, antique thrifting suit wearing, weiner man. Our lives won’t be the same without you,” she wrote alongside a photo of the couple wearing wedding attire.

Family members described Kazanowski in his obituary as someone driven by ambition and faith.

“Xander lived life at full speed and with a rare intensity. While his time with us was cut far too short, he lived more in his twenty-five years than many do in a lifetime,” the obituary read.

“No description could possibly do justice to Xander’s character. He possessed a natural charisma that enlivened every room he entered.

Truly one of a kind, he was a rare example of a man who had the resolve to carve his own path and live entirely on his own terms.”

“Our hearts are absolutely shattered by the profound tragedy of losing such an irreplaceable personality at such a young age,” his family wrote.

Kazanowski is survived by his partner, their daughter Thea, and a son, John, who is expected to be born.

He is also survived by his parents, siblings, and extended family.

According to his family, Kazanowski was an organ donor, and multiple lives were impacted by his final act.

“True to his character, his final act was a perfect expression of his generous heart.

As an organ donor, he saved multiple lives and helped countless others move closer to the miracle of a second chance,” his family said.

The investigation remains ongoing as Chicago police continue efforts to identify and locate the individuals seen in the surveillance footage.
