One person was killed, and six others were injured Saturday night in a mass shooting at a Chick-fil-A in Union Township, New Jersey, according to authorities.

Officials said the six individuals who were wounded suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident marks the 100th mass shooting in the United States so far this year, based on available tracking data.

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office said the shooting “does not appear to be a random act of violence.’’

Authorities did not provide further details about a possible motive.

As of Sunday, no arrests had been made.

Law enforcement officials said they are continuing to search for the suspect or suspects involved in the attack.

The shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. at the Chick-fil-A located on Route 22 in Union Township.

Following the incident, the restaurant was locked down as investigators secured the scene and began collecting evidence.

Witness accounts provided additional details about what happened inside the restaurant.

A man who said his girlfriend works at the location told CBS that a group of masked men entered the establishment and forced their way behind the counter before opening fire.

According to his account, multiple shots were fired during the incident.

The sudden outbreak of violence caused panic among those inside the restaurant. Customers and employees were caught in the chaos as gunfire erupted in what is typically a busy dining location.

A parent of one of the workers described the scene in stark terms, saying it looked like a “war zone.”

That description reflects the extent of the disruption and fear experienced by those present during the shooting.

Investigators have not publicly identified the person who was killed.

Authorities also have not released the names of those injured.

Officials said all six injured individuals are expected to survive.

Law enforcement agencies at the local and county levels responded to the scene and remained there for hours as they worked to process evidence and gather information.

Officers canvassed the area, interviewed witnesses, and reviewed available surveillance footage as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is asking members of the public to come forward with any information that could assist in identifying those responsible.

Authorities urged anyone with details about the incident to contact investigators.

Officials said tips can be submitted by phone at 908-654-TIPS (8477) or online at http://www.uctip.org.

According to the prosecutor’s office, information that leads to an indictment and conviction may qualify for a reward of up to $10,000 through Union County Crime Stoppers.

The investigation remains active as authorities continue to pursue leads.

Law enforcement officials have not said how many suspects they believe were involved, and no description beyond the report of masked individuals has been released.

The Chick-fil-A location where the shooting took place remained a focus of investigative efforts as officials worked to determine the sequence of events leading up to the attack.
