Trans Substitute Teacher Arrested After Alleged “Kill List” Threats Surface

A substitute teacher in Loudoun County, Virginia, was arrested Thursday after authorities received reports of alleged threats directed at a local high school, according to law enforcement and school officials, as reported by Fox News.

Hadyn Dollery, 19, of Chantilly, Virginia, was taken into custody and charged with making “threats of bodily injury” after tips were submitted through the Safe2Talk reporting application. Authorities said the tips indicated potential threats involving a school near Aldie.

Dollery, who reportedly identifies as female, was arrested off school property and is currently being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center in Leesburg.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation after receiving the Safe2Talk submissions. According to a criminal complaint cited by the Loudoun Times, Deputy Chris Freck stated that Dollery allegedly communicated threats to multiple individuals through the Discord messaging platform.

The reported messages included references to a potential “murder spree” at a school and mention of a “kill list,” according to the report.

Officials confirmed that Dollery had been working as a non-licensed substitute teacher for the 2025–26 school year. Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) stated that individuals as young as 19 may serve as substitutes if they hold a high school diploma or an equivalent credential approved by the Virginia Department of Education.

Following the arrest, LCPS confirmed that Dollery has been removed from the substitute teacher list and will not be permitted to return in that role.

“However, LCPS takes all threats seriously, as student and staff safety is our highest priority,” LCPS spokesman Dan Adams said. “In this case, the substitute is no longer on our substitute list and will no longer be allowed to substitute at LCPS.”

Fox News Digital reported that it reached out to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office to confirm details regarding Dollery’s housing status while in custody, but did not receive an immediate response.

Loudoun County, located between Washington, D.C., and Winchester, has been at the center of several high-profile debates in recent years related to school policies and safety concerns.

In 2021, the county drew national attention following an incident involving Scott Smith, a parent who said his daughter was assaulted at Stone Bridge High School. Smith later described being restrained by police during a school board meeting where he attempted to raise concerns.

“I am good with gay people and cross-gender people — anybody who wants to be a good American, I am good with — I went there to find out why our children were not safe,” Smith said during an interview on “The Ingraham Angle.”

He also described an interaction with another parent during the meeting.

“She looked me dead in the face and said, ‘That’s not what happened.’ That struck me — how do you know what happened, you don’t even know me?” Smith said.

Then-Gov. Glenn Youngkin commented on the situation at the time, stating that Smith deserved a “universal apology.”

“He stood up for his daughter’s rights, and his daughter had been sexually assaulted,” Youngkin said.

The current case involving Dollery remains under investigation, and authorities have not released additional details regarding the alleged threats or any potential court proceedings.
