An email sent by California gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter is drawing attention after it was distributed less than a day after an assassination attempt targeting President Donald Trump and senior members of his administration.

The message, which was sent approximately 18 hours after the incident, included strong language directed at Trump.

The contents of the email quickly circulated online, with particular focus on one passage that referenced Trump’s actions and intentions.

“We know what Trump is willing to do and how far he is willing to go — he’s willing to kill people in the streets, to rip healthcare away, to ruthlessly attack our democracy,” the email read.

The timing of the message, coming shortly after the attempted attack, prompted reactions across social media and political circles.

Critics pointed to the language used in the email and questioned its tone in the immediate aftermath of a violent incident involving a sitting president.

Porter, a Democrat who has served in Congress and is now running for governor of California, has not publicly addressed the email as of the time of reporting.

It was not immediately clear whether the message had been scheduled in advance or was sent in real time following the events.

The email also contained multiple profanities, which contributed to the reaction it received online.

Attention centered not only on the tone but also on the statements made regarding the president.

The development comes as political rhetoric has come under increased scrutiny following the assassination attempt.

Officials and public figures from both parties have faced questions about their language and messaging in the wake of the incident.

Porter was not the only Democrat whose comments drew attention. Senate Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries also faced questions over remarks he made regarding Republicans.

Jeffries had previously called for “maximum warfare,” a phrase that was revisited by reporters following the attack.

Jeffries was asked about the language during a press conference, where reporters raised concerns about the tone of political statements in the current climate.

His prior comments became part of a broader discussion about rhetoric and its potential impact.

The attempted attack on President Trump prompted heightened security measures and renewed focus on political discourse nationwide.

Law enforcement officials have not released full details about the suspect or motive behind the incident.

The episode has also led to broader discussions among lawmakers and public figures about the role of messaging during periods of heightened tension.

Statements made before and after the attack have been examined in light of the incident, with some calling for a reduction in heated rhetoric.

Porter’s campaign has not issued an official clarification regarding the email or its timing.

Meanwhile, Katie Porter’s past comments continue to haunt her.
