In an incredible display of misplaced compassion, Judge Zia Faruqui issued an apology to Cole Allen, the man accused of attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump, over what he called “treatment” Allen endured in jail.

The exchange took place Monday during a hearing on the shocking White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting case.

Allen, who allegedly opened fire near an event packed with political figures and journalists, was placed on suicide watch following his arrest.

Yet instead of prioritizing justice for a man who nearly turned a political dinner into a national tragedy, Judge Faruqui decided the real problem was how the suspect feels behind bars.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

According to Fox News correspondent Mike Emanuel, the judge “apologized to suspect Cole Allen for the treatment he’s received so far.”

That single sentence reveals a broader and deeply troubling issue: federal judges seemingly more concerned with coddling suspects accused of violent crimes than supporting the victims or protecting the public.

This Could Be the Most Important Video Gun Owners Watch All Year

To put this into perspective, this same judicial system has watched hundreds of January 6 defendants treated like hardened criminals—locked in isolation, denied medical care, and mocked by prosecutors.

But when the target of potential violence is Donald Trump, suddenly the concern shifts to whether the accused assassin is comfortable in his holding cell.

The irony is astounding.

While patriotic Americans languish behind bars for trespassing at the Capitol, a man accused of trying to take the life of a presidential candidate receives an apology.

Conservatives across the country are watching moments like this stack up and wondering if there’s one legal standard for the Left and a completely different one for everyone else.

Judge Faruqui, appointed in 2020 as a magistrate judge for the District of Columbia, is no stranger to controversy.

He has often drawn attention for his remarks that lean toward social commentary rather than judicial restraint.

His decision to publicly apologize to a would-be political assassin only adds to the growing perception that the D.C. courts have become laboratories for progressive virtue signaling rather than impartial justice.

Supporters of the president expressed outrage at Faruqui’s approach.

Many pointed out that the suspect had been treated in accordance with standard jail procedures, including placement on suicide watch—an ordinary safety measure, not an act of cruelty.

Yet the narrative being spun in the courtroom suggested Allen had been wronged instead of being held accountable.

What kind of message does this send?

That violent actors motivated by political hatred can count on empathy from the bench?

That attempting to murder a president can be met with sympathy if the shooter appears fragile?

This is exactly the kind of justice Americans no longer trust.

The apology reflects the sorry state of fairness in Washington today.

The D.C. political and judicial circles have repeatedly shown that when it comes to people seen as politically aligned with Democrats or the broader “resistance,” the system bends to accommodate them.

In contrast, when the accused happens to lean conservative, or simply supports Trump, compassion disappears overnight.

This episode is just another chapter in a long story of selective justice.

Liberal judges, journalists, and Democratic operatives seem incapable of seeing violence directed toward conservatives as real violence.

But if the situation were reversed, the outcry would dominate every headline and cable network in the country.

Imagine if a Trump supporter had fired shots near a Biden event. Would Judge Faruqui be offering apologies then? Hardly.

The courtroom apology, which made quick headlines, reinforces a loss of faith in America’s justice system.

Americans who once believed that the rule of law was sacred now see courtrooms as stages for political performance.

When a federal judge expresses regret to someone accused of attempting political assassination, it can only deepen the divide between the governed and those governing.

This is not just about one judge or one suspect.

It’s about the erosion of trust in a system that once prized fairness and accountability.

Americans are watching to see whether the Department of Justice will pursue this case with the seriousness it deserves or if Judge Faruqui’s apology is a preview of leniency to come.

Either way, whenever a liberal-leaning judge apologizes to an accused would-be assassin while Trump continues to face endless prosecutions, it’s clear which side Washington elites stand on.
