There Are Some Things About Liberal Technocrats I Cannot Wrap My Head Around

When I was growing up, I assumed that liberals and conservatives shared a similar basic vision of what a good society would look like, but had different ideas on how best to get there. 

Yes, I know that was naive, but I was young, and I still think it is true for many people in the center-left to center-right parts of the political spectrum, who usually are not that far apart in their views compared to the more ideologically committed among us. 

The modern Left was born in the French Revolution, and while it claimed to pursue Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, what it gave the world was chaos and arguably the first genuine world war. 

You would think the adherents of leftism would have learned, and you would be wrong. Ever since, they have caused nothing but chaos. 

So when I say that there are things about liberals I don’t understand, I am not specifically referring to ideological leftists, but rather to their technocratic center-left descendants, who are trying to overlay leftist values onto liberal democratic societies. The soft socialists of the European Union and the liberal bureaucrats who run our institutions. 

The so-called “transnational elite.” The kind of people who believe in the UN, USAID, the European Human Rights Commission, and international law. Think of Fairfax County, Virginia, spread around the world, or Brussels, Copenhagen, London, or Stockholm as the model for everywhere.

These people are, at least now, far more dangerous than Antifa and the revolutionaries, partly because they tolerate Antifa and the revolutionaries, but also because they are systematically destroying the basic immune system of society.

I have been thinking about this a lot, because it baffles me. I get the socialist impulse, partly because these people are economically illiterate and have the reasoning skills of children.

But who on earth thinks “We really need to keep this child rapist in our country, and moreover, ON THE STREETS OF OUR CITIES, because he is retarded, incapable of controlling himself, needs disability, and his home country won’t give him what we can? 

He rapes a relative, they give him no jail time, put him on welfare, and won’t deport him because he is stupid. Who thinks that this is good policy?

Their ideology simply puts male illegal immigrants and asylum seekers higher than women on their hierarchy of ‘the oppressed’. Its what happens when good values like tolerance and openness get warped to extremes.

And that is hardly the most insane thing. In Europe, it is now common to let rapists go because they are migrants who don’t understand that raping women is wrong, and it would be cruel to deport them, too. So have a nice day!

The Muslim rape gangs in Britain were permitted because “South Asians” just do that sort of thing, and pointing it out can get you thrown in jail. European countries have flung open their doors to people who cost millions of dollars over their lifetime, commit horrific crimes at remarkable rates, and the technocrats crack down not on the criminals but their own citizens.

I get the original impulse to be compassionate to people who are in trouble, but not the insistence that even the worst of the worst must be coddled and allowed to stay.

You would think that the technocrats would at least want to defend their own project to reshape society into their version of a utopia, but they cling stubbornly to their bizarre notion of compassion despite the evidence before their eyes.

I get why Antifa and the communist revolutionaries back this path. They want to destroy society. 

But the technocrats want to rule over the current order, not destroy everything and rebuild it. Yet they are doing more to destroy it than the rioters and looters. 

I don’t get it.
