Speaker Mike Johnson is inviting hundreds of pastors, churches, and faith leaders across the country to Washington, D.C. for a massive celebration of faith in honor of America’s 250th birthday, the Daily Caller has learned.
The Trump administration is hosting ‘Rededicate 250: National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise, and Thanksgiving’ on May 17th on the National Mall. The event will feature Christian leaders and singers, including Jonathan Roumie, Bishop Robert Barron, and Chris Tomlin. Johnson sent his invitation, first obtained by the Caller, telling members of the faith community the event will be the first time Americans will “gather together to rededicate the United States as One Nation Under God.”
“This is a unique moment for believers. For the first time in modern history, a U.S. president has called our nation to prayer—to humble ourselves and to rededicate America to God,” Johnson wrote in his letter. “This is a call for unity, repentance, and hope, and one that truly transcends politics.”

Johnson writes that on the same day in 1776, the Second Continental Congress held a day dedicated to prayer and fasting.
“Now, exactly 250 years to the day, tens of thousands of Americans will stand together as one in our nation’s capital to give thanks for God’s blessings over the last 250 years—and to ask for His forgiveness, mercy, and guidance as we embark on the next,” Johnson continues.
Other attendees of the event will include Jentezen Franklin, Jack Graham, Lou Engles, Jonathan Pokluda, Cissie Graham, War Secretary Pete Hegseth, Dr. Ben Carson, and Eric Metaxas, the letter notes.
White House Director of the Domestic Policy Council Vince Haley previously told the Caller he hopes the event helps redirect the country.
“This particular event will surely remind people of the work of God in American life,” Haley told the Caller.
“So many messages don’t reach people because they are culturally not valued, but we value celebrating and recognizing people of faith, and how people of faith have understood God to be active in the 250-year history of our country,” he added.

The event will take place over 11 hours on the National Mall. The website, where Americans are encouraged to sign up to attend, notes that there will be three “pillars” for the day: The Miracles that Made Us, The Miracles Still in Our Midst, and A New Birth of Faith and Freedom.
Attendees can also expect to see performances from “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, the United States Navy Band, and others.
“Through worship, prayer, and storytelling, we will remember the people, sacrifices, and foundational moments in which God has shaped our history. By the end, I hope you will see the truth in Benjamin Franklin’s famous admonition: ‘that God governs in the affairs of men,’” Johnson wrote in his letter on the event.
