Prom Couple Goes Viral for Their Hilarious ‘Dumb and Dumber’ Inspired Outfits [WATCH]

A Texas prom couple turned heads and screens when their outfits, inspired by Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels’ unforgettable orange and blue suits from “Dumb and Dumber,” lit up social media feeds with millions of views.

Brennon Allen, a senior at Trinity Christian School in Atlanta, Texas, had been brainstorming ways to make his prom night stand out when an idea struck during a casual Instagram scroll.

He came across a clip from the 1994 comedy classic and knew instantly what he wanted to do.

“I was talking to my girlfriend and was like, ‘You know, it’s our senior prom. I want to make it memorable,’” Brennon told The Post.

“Then a clip from the movie popped up on Instagram and I was like, ‘That would be such a good color scheme to pick from.’”

His girlfriend, Olivia King, a student at Atlanta High School, didn’t hesitate to join in.

“I asked her about it and she was on board with it,” Brennon said, laughing. “And honestly, I think her mom was more on board with it than we were.”

That mom, Brooke Allen, proudly represented all the parents who grew up on ’90s comedies.

“All of us moms that were teenagers in the ’90s were like, ‘Yes,’” she said, recalling her immediate enthusiasm for the idea.

When the couple arrived at The Collins Home in Texarkana on April 18, Brennon stole the show in a bright orange suit, and Olivia complemented him perfectly in a pale blue gown. Both topped off their looks with matching top hats and canes — just like their cinematic inspirations Lloyd and Harry.

The big reveal took many of Brennon’s classmates by surprise. “Only a handful knew beforehand what we were wearing,” he said.

But once they walked in, the reaction was immediate and electric. “Everybody was wanting to wear the top hats and get the canes and fight with them. Everybody was so excited about it.”

Despite the film being released in 1994 — long before Brennon was born — the teen knows it by heart. “I’ve seen it at least seven times,” he admitted, noting that his parents made sure he watched the classics.

His mom agreed proudly. “We’re those parents that we’re like, ‘You’re going to watch all the classics,’” Brooke said, adding with a laugh that she “had to make sure” he was raised right.

What Brooke didn’t expect was that a simple prom video would explode online. She filmed a before-and-after clip of the teens and posted it casually.

“I just told them, kind of on a whim, I was like, ‘Y’all hold hands and jump,’” she explained. “Then, when I got to prom, I was like, ‘OK, do it again.’ And I didn’t know what I was gonna do with it.”

Within hours, the lighthearted video took off. “I made the little video, posted it, didn’t think a thing about it. And then I just started getting all the notifications,” Brooke said. The clip quickly collected over 2.3 million views across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

The reaction online has been overwhelmingly positive. “I was so thrilled that everybody loved it so much,” Brooke shared, adding that she even made a follow-up video to thank viewers for their kindness.

Brennon said his favorite comment referenced one of the film’s most quoted lines.

“People commented, ‘Just when I think, this generation couldn’t possibly be any dumber, they go and do something like this … aaaaand TOTALLY REDEEM THEMSELVES!!!’” he said with a laugh.

Some commenters even suggested the couple deserved to be crowned Prom King and Queen.

But because Brennon had already been named Homecoming King earlier in the year, he wasn’t eligible for the prom title. “How my school does it is you can’t win Homecoming King and Prom King,” Brennon explained.

Between the spot-on outfits, the viral success, and the nostalgia of a ’90s classic reimagined for a new generation, Brennon and Olivia’s prom night proved that creativity — and comedy — never go out of style.
