Falco Holsters Announces Four New Hybrid Holsters

Back in December, I wrote about a holster protecting a gun from a vehicle fire. That holster, made by Falco, introduced me to the company and the fact that they use heavy-duty leather for many of their offerings.

But they also use kydex for some products, which has some advantages, too. Leather is sexier, in my book, but kydex is lighter and thinner.

So what do you do? Well, hybrids exist that use both, and Falco has a few already, but in a press release, they announced four more offerings.

FALCO® Holsters is proud to announce the expansion of its highly successful TalonGuard lineup with four new OWB hybrid holsters: the C915, C915 L, C916, and C916 L. Developed in response to the overwhelmingly positive feedback surrounding the TalonGuard system, the new models bring the same enhanced safety and retention concept to two completely new OWB holster designs. Each design is available in both standard and light-bearing configurations.

About TalonGuard Technology

The TalonGuard system represents FALCO’s evolution of the traditional hybrid holster. By integrating a precisely molded Kydex insert that fully encloses the trigger guard and weapon light, TalonGuard significantly enhances passive retention and safety while preserving the comfort, flexibility, and quiet carry experience of premium Italian leather.

All holsters in this series are handcrafted from premium Italian leather and genuine U.S. Kydex. They feature a optional sweat guard for protection against body moisture, along with an open-top and open-bottom design compatible with threaded barrels.

Pancake OWB TalonGuard Holsters

The new C915 and C915 L TalonGuard Pancake OWB Holsters are designed for users who prioritize stability and comfort during active movement. Featuring a classic pancake-style layout with widely spaced polymer belt loops, the holsters distribute weight evenly across the belt for a secure and stable carry experience.

The C915 L accommodates handguns equipped with tactical lights or lasers while maintaining the slim profile and comfort expected from a hybrid holster. The C915, on the other hand, features adjustable retention thanks to its retention screw.

Compact TalonGuard Holsters

The C916 and C916 L introduce a compact OWB design focused on reduced footprint and discreet everyday carry. By combining a polymer belt loop with a leather belt tunnel, the compact design minimizes overall holster size while maintaining excellent belt stability.

The C916 L is specifically engineered for pistols equipped with weapon-mounted lights or lasers, while the C916 features a retention screws for fine-tuning the draw force.

“While we knew TalonGuard will push the boundaries of traditional hybrid holsters, the response to the IWB models still exceeded our expectations,” said Robert Kováč. “Customers immediately recognized the value of combining the safety and retention advantages of Kydex with the comfort and natural feel of leather. After seeing how quickly the first TalonGuard models gained popularity, expanding the system into OWB holsters was the natural next step. These new models give customers more options whether they prioritize comfort, stability, or compatibility with modern optics and weapon lights.”

With the introduction of the C915, C915 L, C916, and C916 L, FALCO Holsters continues to push the boundaries of modern carry while expanding its hybrid holster portfolio to meet the evolving demands of modern firearm owners. All four holsters are available now at FALCO Holsters and can be custom-crafted for more than 2,600 handgun models and over 100 weapon lights.

I’ve picked up a few Falco holsters since I wrote that initial story about them, and they’ve all been well-built holsters. I’ll have a review coming on a couple in the near future, for the record.

I can’t say I know much more about these offerings than what’s in the press release, but I’m looking forward to putting the C916 through its paces.

No, these aren’t the cheapest holsters in the world, but for what you’re getting, I think it’s a good price for a well-made product. Besides, if your weapon matters to you, I think you absolutely should spend some money on a holster. I’ve used the cheapies and some mid-tier offerings for various guns, as I think most of us do during our evolutions as gun owners, and they’re never quite as good as I’d like.

Having better holsters means having better performance and comfort.

I won’t say these are the only offerings you should consider. There are a lot of quality holsters out there, and this is just one offering that I’d say should be thought about, but a good holster is a good holster.

And a holster is necessary kit if you’re going to walk out of the house with a firearm. I don’t care if it’s mandated by your state or not–it is here in Georgia–you still need one. Get one. Get a good one.

This is an option that’s new. Check it out and see if it’ll meet your needs or not.
