There’s a revealing paradox I have been noticing: overall, crime has been trending downward, at least partly due to declining fertility in the United States. Fewer people in the prime crime years equals fewer crimes.

But a certain type of crime has been growing in prominence: street takeovers, mass looting in stores as young people stream in to overwhelm the employees, random assaults and shootings, and mass brawls in public places.

Basically, I am talking about escalating public disorder for the sake of public disorder. It has grown in parallel to, but is different in kind to the crimes committed by mentally ill people, and a bit more similar to the criminal activity we see from a class of illegal aliens who consider themselves untouchable in sanctuary cities.

Most public disorder crimes are committed by large groups of minority youths, mainly African Americans, who obviously believe that they are immune to prosecution, both because of the decarceration movement and the collective white guilt in Blue areas.

Kids who have grown up in environments that already don’t inculcate social conscience are further encouraged to act out because they have been told that society is stacked against them, while also being told that the liberal establishment will cut them a break as a form of reparations.

Pirro’s office will prosecute adults under the city’s curfew law for enabling, facilitating, or permitting minors to commit delinquent acts. Penalties include up to six months in jail, fines, and court-ordered classes. “If the evidence shows the parents knew or should have known… we’re going to charge them.”
The emergence of these kinds of crimes is totally predictable. Human beings easily descend into barbarism when it is allowed to flourish. There is nothing unique about these crimes, except that they are allowed to happen in a nominally civilized society.

Just as the street takeovers are a trend in Blue cities, where large groups of teens and young adults gather to risk their lives with car stunts, the flash mobs are now a thing because leftists allow them to be a thing.

Judges, prosecutors, and leftist politicians are all giving their permission for young people—especially minorities—to express their aggression in antisocial ways, and a lot of kids are taking up the offer to run wild.

Obviously, there is no way to eliminate all crime; human beings are fallen. But there are societies that breed crime, and societies that are civilized enough that very few people would consider committing crimes, especially violent crimes.

Black youths in particular have been told by liberals that expressing their baser instincts is not their fault and that they will be less harshly punished for following their worst impulses. They have also been taught to hate white people and blame them for every bad thing that happens to them.
