A fearless college graduate from Louisiana has captivated the internet by doing something most sane people would never dream of, as reported by The New York Post.

Kat Daley, a recent McNeese State University graduate, posed for her senior photos alongside a massive 14 foot alligator named Big Al, sealing the shoot with a kiss right on the gator’s snout.

The jaw dropping shots show Daley inches from the powerful reptile’s open mouth, cool as can be, in a sparkling blue gown and graduation cap.

Woman goes viral for taking graduation photos with a 14-foot alligator

While most people would run for their lives at the sight of a gator that size, Daley stood calmly beside Big Al with the confidence of someone who knows exactly what she’s doing.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

That confidence comes from experience. Daley, 22, works at Gator Country in Beaumont, Texas, a wildlife park run by her fiancé, Eddie.

The couple tends to hundreds of alligators and other reptiles every day, rescuing, feeding, and rehabilitating them for safe captivity.

“I really wanted to highlight what I do with these animals every day and what they mean to me,” Daley told The Post. Her goal was to push back against what she described as unfair fear and negative media portrayals of reptiles.

“I feel like reptiles are demonized in the media a lot more than they need to be, alligators specifically. They’re not as aggressive as people like to think. When people don’t interfere with those wild animals, they aren’t gonna interfere with us,” Daley explained.

To her, Big Al is less of a monster and more of a misunderstood friend.

Her affection for wildlife is nothing new. Daley began volunteering in wildlife rehab at the age of 7, well before most kids can even ride a bike without training wheels.

That lifelong passion shines through in her fearless attitude toward the creatures many dismiss as dangerous.

The graduation photo series captures both elegance and raw grit. Some pictures show Daley gracefully wading knee deep in the water toward Big Al in her gown, while another features her mortarboard perched right on the gator’s nose.

The tassel dangles teasingly in front of the predator’s teeth, yet the pair appear perfectly in sync.

These might be the coolest graduation photos ever! and totally real (not AI).

Laura Oglesbee, the professional photographer behind the viral photos, said she wasn’t the least bit worried about Daley’s safety. “The alligators are trained; they only do it with Big Al and Big Tex, who have been trained for a long time.

It’s not just some random alligator,” Oglesbee said. Her husband had once wrestled gators at the same park, giving the couple a unique familiarity with the creatures.

Not every photo was easy for Oglesbee to shoot up close. One of the more daring ideas involved Daley posing with a venomous timber rattlesnake.

“I had to use my wide lens for that,” she said. “They wouldn’t let me get too close for that one, but [Daley] just held that snake like it was nothing.”

Gator Country has become something of a sanctuary for displaced reptiles. Located on 15 acres about 80 miles east of Houston, the park is home to roughly 450 gators at any given time and rescues around 250 per year.

The team safely captures nuisance alligators that would otherwise be destroyed and provides them with a permanent, monitored home.

Daley is just as devoted to the education side of her work as she is to conservation. She believes that the more people understand these animals, the less they’ll fear them.

“I love the conservation aspect of it, where we get to save these animals that would otherwise be destroyed. But I also love the education aspect, getting people to see and interact with these animals and see they’re not so scary.”

For Daley, her graduation was not the end of one chapter but the continuation of her mission to change hearts and minds about reptiles.

She earned her general studies degree with a concentration in natural sciences while working full-time at Gator Country, a schedule most college students would never survive.

“Honestly, I kind of already have my dream job, so I think I’m just gonna stay right here and see where it takes me,” she said.

For this fearless young woman, the future looks bright and wild.

Big Al will no doubt continue to be her co-star as she keeps proving that courage, faith in your work, and a love for God’s creatures can turn even the most terrifying animal into a friend.
