Graham Platner Is One Revolting Tub O’ Goo

Okay. So I am not using that fat slob’s picture with his hairy, tattooed chest and jelly belly exposed for all to see, bellowing like a water buffalo for this post.

I refuse. I’m over it.

Back to the Maine Democrats’ poster boy.

Over my time in politics, I have witnessed, as have most of you, some unappealing characters be exposed as even less appealing as their campaigns went on. When facts about their previous iterations either dribbled in or came tumbling out in a deluge.

Anthony Weiner springs to mind, Tim Putz…um Walz, or even someone still in the running like Katie Porter.

EWWW

But Graham Platner – ick. 

No one has had an already shady reputation and off-putting persona torpedoed so quickly in the eyes of rational people as this bombastic, blubbery sack of carbon, and the majority of it by his own revolting words.

His simple working oysterman autobiography is horsepoop.

As embarrassing as it is, the jerk was a Marine for a couple of years, and then switched to the Guard, and did a couple of tours in Iraq. 

He has claimed at different times that his Totenkopf Nazi tattoo was an 1) Oh, really? I didn’t know! 2) drunken mistake one night, and most egregiously, 3) a symbol of the military mindset.

Every single Marine I know, not to mention all the military in my extensive group of friends in real-life circles and online, has all called bulls**t on that one.

None of us, from corporals to corpsmen to generals, with many distinguished post-military careers between them all (I’m like the underachiever), can name a single person we ever met who sported Nazi ink. Not one. Had we or anyone in my squadron seen it, there would have been serious words, I can assure you.

As a Navy doctor, I saw a lot of crazy tattoos in crazy places, not one Nazi tattoo.

SO I really resent Platner’s excuse that ‘military culture’ made him do it.

No, it didn’t. His complete lack of character did.

No one has had an issue with his service, and in itself, it certainly was everything admirable. It’s his disrespect for the military itself and his own service that sets teeth grinding.

Earlier in the campaign, he stretched the time he spent in the military by a couple of years and got called out on it, so he’s trying a new tack – MARTYR OF THE CONGRESSIONAL WAR MONGERS

He’s also got a touch of John Kerry fabulist in him, because he spouted some war story years ago to a local paper that amounted to essentially war crimes. All to make himself look bad to the bone.

And I know you’re going to be shocked, but I have to break it to you anyway – Platner’s fond of doing rude things in the porta-potty and penile graffiti. Not only that, but he at one time loved bragging about them to whatever Reddit autistics got a kick out of puerile Platner porn.

Platner has dismissed past controversies as ‘joking’ and ‘s***posting,’ but GOP strategists say the pattern raises fundamental questions about his judgment and fitness for office.

He became Democrats’ presumptive nominee after Gov. Janet Mills dropped out last month.

The man’s a pig, which probably gives him some sort of manly luster in limp-wristed pajama boy eyes who wouldn’t know the difference if he spoke or oinked at them. They’re ready to swoon as long as he’s in flannel shirts.

But he has some truly kind of disturbing issues that need to be looked at, too. His comments about women and rape have made no dent in ardent Democrat hearts, as twisted as they currently are, and I am supposing that this latest revelation of his Reddit diatribes won’t either, but it should.

This should pause a Platner voter who has ever served and claims that’s why he’s voting for the communist. The video Platner is talking about is a 37-year-old who launched out in front of his unit in an ill-advised attempt to ‘save’ them during a Taliban ambush. He got himself shot, but survived, and only because he nearly got the unit wiped out as they tried to save him. It has since become a textbook example used in tactical classes of how not to be a hero, whatever your impulses.

In 2019, seven years ago, when he was 34-years-old, Graham Platner logged into reddit and posted a response to a video of an American soldier being shot by the Taliban.

Think about each line. “This video never gets old.” Platner’s implying he’s watched the video several times and enjoys it. “At least his stupidity and fat ass wheezing are available for all future infantrymen to witness and hold in contempt.” 

That’s what Platner thinks about his fellow Americans at war. If they’re not good at killing or broader tactics, he has contempt for them. He displays no empathy. The opposite, in fact. 

The man that Platner is commenting on, by the way, is Pfc. Ted Daniels, who was a 37-year-old father of two serving in Afghanistan at the time of the incident (2012). The bad tactic Platner enjoys mocking? Daniels stepped into the open deliberately to draw Taliban fire away from his fellow soldiers so his squad could get to safety. 

Daniels was shot four times in this video and, ultimately, earned a Purple Heart. 

When the video was initially released (2013), Pfc. Daniels was critical of himself in interviews, saying, “It wasn’t the most tactically brilliant thing to do.” He described that he was embarrassed by the video; that people could hear him screaming for help. But, also, he said: “I put my ass on the line for other guys.” 

Then, we have, again, Graham Platner, logging into reddit, in 2019, to comment: “Dumb motherf**ker didn’t deserve to live.” 

For all those who say, “That’s just how Marines talk,” I’ll tell you: Platner’s comment got downvoted by the military community. Even if it didn’t: We’re not talking about the military anymore. We’re talking about a 34-year-old man, years after service, logging in to mock another man who’s being shot on video. We’re also talking about the U.S. Senate, not boys-will-be-boys or Marines-will-be-Marines. 

We’re always told to view Platner as a changed man. 2013, when he made the rape apologia comments, was the “darkest point in his life,” or so we have been told. So what was going on in 2019, such that Platner enjoyed watching a video of a man getting shot and mocking him? How many arcs of change are there in Platner’s life? Was there a specific point where he discovered human empathy? 

I couldn’t help but think of that specific reddit comment while watching the video below. “Still sending young Americans to die thousands of miles away from home,” Platner says. Didn’t he log in to reddit seven years ago to say, “Dumb motherf**ker didn’t deserve to live” ?

It doesn’t help that Platner only has the finest, most sterling Democrats defending him, either.

Talk about mouthbreathers. Gallego, sad to say, is a Marine, too.

They are going to stampede older voters and independent women into Collins’ camp — which is where they always end up.

Gross as Platner’s scattershot platform is, as vile as his writings are, as personally repellent as he is, I don’t know that it will be enough to overcome the swooning of demented Democrats and their rabid, virulently anti-American progressive allies.

I just don’t know.
