Democrats in Washington So Excited About Talarico’s Chances That They Expect Coattails!

James Talarico is creepy as hell. 

I don’t say this as a Republican who disagrees with him on most things, but as a human male. The more you hear of him, the more repulsive he is. 

No doubt he will get some male votes, but almost exclusively from people who think that Scott Weiner’s campaign parties are really great.

Such men exist, obviously, but they are creepy as hell, too. They are the sort of people who like the idea of pedophilic sex offenders being allowed into girls’ locker rooms because their license says ‘F’ in the gender slot.

No doubt you have seen the clips of Talarico being creepy. When asked what he loves, his first answer is “trans kids.” He is a “Christian” preacher who sees the story of the Immaculate Conception as proof that God loves abortion. And speaking of God, it turns out that He is transgender.

Democrats think they have a winner. In fact, they are so confident that they have decided to pour more money into the race to take advantage of his coattails.

That’s not a Babylon Bee article. It is real. Washington Democrats really think that Talarico is so strong that he will have coattails long enough to pick up some seats in the House of Representatives. 

The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee on Wednesday revealed it is expanding its target list of seats to flip in Texas’s Legislature. 

The DLCC, which operates as the Democratic Party’s campaign arm aiming to boost its presence in state legislatures across the country, announced it is adding a dozen more seats in the Texas state House to its list, in addition to the three districts it was already backing. The development comes as Democrats believe momentum is growing in their bid to grow their presence in the deep-red Lone Star state, in part due to state Rep. James Talarico’s performance in one of the country’s most closely watched Senate races. 

I’m quite sure he will knock it out of the park in Austin, and Harris County will flood the zone. But instead of expanding the Democrats’ base, he will lock the Hispanic vote in for Republicans for a generation. 

This man oozes estrogen, and you have to wonder what an examination of his hard drive would reveal.

I’m not accusing, but…just sayin’. The guy is a little light in the loafers and has to have pictures of himself broadcast proving he eats meat, because he advertised his campaigns as totally vegan.

The Babylon Bee joked that Democrats would soon complain that Republicans playing clips of Talarico speaking was a dirty trick, because he looks so repulsive in them. 

Not that this will prevent most Democrats from voting for him, of course. Jay Jones got elected, and a protege of the Blind Sheik just won a Democratic primary in New Jersey, even after people learned he volunteered for an al Qaeda-adjacent organization labeled a terrorist group by many countries. 

Democrats. Go figure.

But these are not the people who will carry Talarico over the finish line, because they are a minority of Texans, and Talarico will have a hard time expanding beyond the base any more than ‘Beto’ O’Rourke, who was a similarly exciting candidate for the Democrats.

They thought Beto had the key to expanding the base, and again they were shocked to find he was not appealing to Texans. 

Sure, Democrats have been flooding into Texas from California and other Blue states as they implode, so Democrats have a right to explore options for capitalizing on that fact. But their choices of candidates show they fundamentally misunderstand Texas’ electorate, and they have managed to drive away Texas Hispanics, who are more Texan than Hispanic in their own minds. 

Border counties—which are heavily Hispanic—have moved Red, away from Democrats. Open borders don’t appeal to people who actually have to live with the consequences. And few Hispanics are all into creepy men leering at their wives and daughters in locker rooms. 

Shocking, I know, that the boutique issues of AWFLs and freaks don’t appeal to working people. 

Democrats could make inroads, perhaps, if they weren’t so repulsive to ordinary folks who don’t fret about graduate degrees, alphabet issues, or blowing up capitalism. 

Perhaps someday, but this is not that day.
