Protesters awaiting the verdict in the Karmelo Anthony trial were furious to learn the 19-year-old had been found guilty of murdering 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a Texas track meet in April 2025.
“We gotta tell our kids the truth, that this is a racist-ass country,” yelled a woman dressed in what appeared to be a Black Panther uniform. Two men dressed in similar uniforms stood stoically to her sides. (RELATED: Key Witness To Karmelo Anthony Defense Fumbles After Damning Testimony)
She further directed an individual (or the nation, perhaps) to “stop that coon-ass shit.”
“Don’t nobody want to hear about what we do to each other. We talking about what they doing to us,” she continued. “White folks kill white folks. Mexicans kill Mexicans. We ain’t trying to hear no coon shit today. Go over there to them white folks with that. This is a racist-ass country!”
The pantheress claimed Texas is a “racist-ass state” and that the trial was taking place in a “racist-ass court,” as she continued her tirade against white people.
Another woman argued Anthony was acting in self-defense.
“Anytime a white man, or a white child, go and put their hands aggressively on anybody, and something like this occur, it’s self-defense,” she said.
“You put your hand on me and see how I respond,” she told her interviewer.
Another woman chimed in: “Beat your motherfuckin’ ass.”
That’s class.

The original interviewee continued, saying, “We gon’ stand behind him and we gon’ fight,” eliciting a chorus of agreement from the women surrounding her.
The woman noted she has no relation to the family, other than belonging to the same race: “We’re brothers, we’re black, we’re brothers and sisters, we’re blacks, we’re the indigenous people of this earth.”
Prior to the verdict, one supporter of Anthony verbally harassed deputies protecting the courthouse, telling the officers they should be “ashamed.” The woman appeared to single out a black deputy, telling him, “That’s one of y’alls that was in there. But you guys don’t give a fuck until it’s at your front door. That’s the sad part.” (RELATED: DUKE: Karmelo Anthony Defense Team Waves White Flag After Disastrous String Of Witnesses)
Anthony and Metcalf attended different schools. After Anthony entered Metcalf’s school’s tent, Metcalf asked him to leave. The two had a short argument before Anthony fatally stabbed Metcalf in the heart. Metcalf died in his twin brother’s arms.
Anthony’s defense attorneys claimed the teenager acted in self-defense. The jury, evidently, disagreed.
