Sen. Spartacus: We’ve Embraced a Nazi-Tatted Kik Creeper for Power, You Know

We know. We know.

The irony of this apparently never occurs to Cory Booker, who once famously compared himself to Spartacus for latching onto unsubstantiated allegations against Brett Kavanaugh for a supposed assault during a teenage party. Now comes Graham Platner with a Nazi tattoo, a half-naked profile pic on a social-media platform notorious for predators targeting teens, and credible and corroborated allegations of domestic violence from a former girlfriend eleven years ago. 

NBC’s Garrett Haake challenged Booker on yesterday’s Meet the Press over Booker’s support for Der Oysterführer on the basis of character, a point that Booker evades. Instead, Booker excuses his support by insisting that Democrats need to control the Senate to reimpose the unpopular policies that caused them to lose control of the chamber and the White House.

You know … just like Spartacus!

NBC: Do you think Graham Platner has the character to serve in the U.S. Senate?

BOOKER: He has a lot of issues but my God we need the Senate.

NBC: Will you campaign in Maine?

GARRETT HAAKE: One of those opportunities to elect a new leader is in Maine where you have a competitive contest. Democrats just nominated Graham Platner despite past offensive comments about a tattoo associated — past offensive comments, he’s got this tattoo that’s associated with a Nazi symbol. He also said he didn’t understand its meaning. He’s covered it up. And he’s also faced allegations from former girlfriends of abusive behavior, which he denies. Do you think Graham Platner has the character to serve in the United States Senate?

SEN. CORY BOOKER: Well, this is what campaigns are for. He certainly has a lot of issues and a lot of questions to answer and address. And I think the people in Maine are going to give a lot of examination to this going through — in this election. For me, I certainly hope we pick up a seat here. For me and people of the State of New Jersey, dear God, we need to get the Senate back so we can start checking this out-of-control president. And that’s why, again, I’m going to be doing everything I can all over my state of New Jersey and everywhere I can to help candidates across this country to get to that end which is Democrats regaining control of the House and the Senate so we check and balance a president that’s chaotic, cruel and corrupt.

Exactly! Spartacus also led the Third Servile War so that [checks historical notes] the Pompey Party could keep control of the Senate. Booker is super consistent with his heroic tradition here. 

Let’s also not forget how glibly Booker used to toss around Nazi references, until he had to embrace Herr Totenkopf in order to hold Maine. Remember when Booker told an audience that fighting climate change was like fighting the Nazis? Good times, good times …

Old and busted: Fight Nazis! New hotness: Hug a Nazi!

Well … hug may overstate Booker’s commitment to this particular power grab. Booker plans to campaign for James Talarico, but when Haake asks about Maine, Booker suddenly gets shy:

GARRETT HAAKE: And you mentioned Texas and Ohio, will you campaign in Maine?

SEN. CORY BOOKER: I don’t have any plans to campaign there now.

GARRETT HAAKE: All right, fair enough.

Fair enough? Come on, man. Haake should get credit for asking these questions, but it’s not “fair enough” for Booker to claim Platner as a conduit for power while dodging him on the campaign trail. 

Maybe Booker is worried about the next shoes to drop with Der Oysterführer. Maybe he should worry more about that:

In the wake of the U.S. strike that took out longtime Iranian terror chief Qassem Soleimani, a Reddit user posting under the handle “RevolutionaryCommie” denounced America’s “ghoulish” and “disgusting” response to Soleimani’s death, writing, “They are a disgraceful country.” The comment earned an endorsement from left-wing Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner, who responded, “I can’t disagree.”

The remark from “RevolutionaryCommie” came in response to an original post highlighting President Donald Trump’s famous American flag tweet sent after the January 2020 strike killed Soleimani, then the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ elite Quds Force, who was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans during the Iraq war. The self-described communist Redditor took issue with the “responses to the tweet: the racism, the cheering death, the calling for more killings, the mocking of the dead,” calling it “the most ghoulish and disgusting thing I’ve ever seen. They are a disgraceful country.” Platner, using the alias “P-Hustle,” responded with his endorsement.

“I’m an American, and I can’t disagree with you tonight,” he wrote.

Stay tuned, as we say, because these leaks may be coming from inside the Democrat tent, hoping to push Platner out before the statutory deadline on July 13. After that, the shoes – er, jackboots – will really start dropping.
