Day Four of Tyler Robinson’s Preliminary Hearing

There were some developments overnight as Erika Kirk’s lawyer made a filing demanding maximum transparency in the case. Her filing even made a reference to Candace Owens, albeit without using her name.

Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, has requested that all evidence admitted into the courtroom during the preliminary hearing for the man accused of murdering her husband be published during the proceedings beginning on Thursday…

On Wednesday evening, Erika requested that every exhibit entered into evidence during the preliminary hearing concerning the death of her husband be visible to everyone present in the courtroom.

Both she and Charlie’s parents have waited ten months for the preliminary hearing and traveled to Provo to bear witness to the evidence. While much evidence has been admitted, it has not been presented for their viewing.

“To receive evidence in a manner shielded from those seated in the courtroom—as happened today—is not transparency. And in the absence of transparency, speculation and conspiracy theories related to the tragic assassination of Mr. Kirk will continue to proliferate in the public domain, breeding doubt and distrust in the judicial system,” stated the filing.

The judge has been using a three step process for every exhibit that is entered during the preliminary hearing this week. First the lawyers ask for permission to enter an exhibit. Next they ask for permission to show the exhibit in the courtroom and finally, they must separately ask if they want the exhibit shown to the cameras which are located in the back of the room, essentially making that exhibit public. 

So far, the prosecution has asked that every exhibit be shown in the courtroom and that many of them be shown to the media. The defense has objected to showing many of the exhibits either in court or to the public, arguing that this will undermine Robinson’s right to a fair trial. 

There is also a lawyer present who represents the news media and he, like Erika Kirk, has been pushing for maximum transparency. Basically, his argument is that preliminary hearings are public and anything shown to the courtroom should also be shown to the public so they can consider it as well. In this case, Erika Kirk’s filing didn’t go that far. She’s demanding that the exhibits be shown in court but not necessarily made public.

All of that matters because the item on the judge’s agenda this morning was responding to Kirk’s filing and to the various lawyer’s reactions to it. Also, this morning the prosecution plans to admit a video deposition with Lance Twiggs and that led to multiple disagreements about which elements should be redacted and what could and could not be shown to the courtroom and to the public. Ultimately, a redacted version of the video was shown in court and to the cameras. At some point there was audio and video and at other points there was just audio. Large sections of the video were skipped over.

I’ve watched the redacted video in full and even this portion of it is pretty damning. The first thing I noticed is that Twiggs, who was allegedly trans, is wearing a suit and calling himself Lance. It’s not clear if he’s still trans or has abandoned that. The video starts with a statement about Twiggs receiving limited immunity for his statements.

In the video he says he lived with Robinson and they started dating about 3-4 months after Robinson moved in to the apartment. He recalls Robinson asking if they had a Dremel so that he could engrave some bullets (allegedly for a family hunting trip). He said this was no more than a month before the shooting.

But the big news is Twiggs confirms he got texts from Robinson on the night of the 10th, including the one telling him to go find a letter under his keyboard. Twiggs read the letter and took a photo of it. Twiggs did not suggest that any of the texts with Robinson had been faked by anyone, which is something that most of the conspiracy theorists have claimed. The letter itself contained an admission that Robinson planned to “take out” Charlie Kirk.

Twiggs also testified that he saw Robinson the next day and that Robinson was on edge and pacing. He says Robinson confessed again (in addition to the texts and the letter under the keyboard the night before) to killing Kirk and told him he regretted doing it. I believe this confession had not been reported before and makes for a total of five times that Robinson confessed to various people.

In the bombshell video, Twiggs said Robinson told him that he “wishes he hadn’t done it.”

At this point there was a gap in the video and Twiggs said Robinson planned to talk to his parents and maybe turn himself in which he did later that night.

Twiggs also looked at the images of the suspect released by the FBI and agreed they looked like Tyler Robinson.

Finally, Twiggs said that Tyler talked about politics sometimes but it didn’t really interest him (Twiggs). He said they hadn’t really talked about gender identity.

After showing the video, prosecutors immediately brought up Brian Davis from the Utah Bureau of Investigation. He then helped introduce images of texts between Twiggs and Robinson.

All of this is absolutely devastating. I don’t see any way to explain all of this evidence away. Naturally, Candace Owens is doubling down on stupid.

None of this is shocking or new to people who can read. The scandal was that the judge ruled the defense could NOT vet the alleged text messages, discord messages, or cross-examine Lance at this hearing. 

So what you are watching is a *highly-likely* federal asset deliver an entirely unvetted narrative for the sole purpose of paid influencers then creating videos to pretend his testimony is overwhelming and shocking!

Enjoy the early show-trial. Lance, (in my view and in the view of most rational people who have been following) is the FBI’s co-conspirator who helped to set Tyler Robinson up. Accordingly, he has been protected since day one.

Another just-so story to explain away three confessions. Everyone who testifies Robinson is guilty is part of a government plot. There’s no reasoning with people this deluded. But it is amusing to see them flail.

We were not shown an photo of the letter found under the keyboard but it was shown in court and we got a description of how investigators got it from Twiggs’ phone.

Were all of these people part of the conspiracy? It’s ridiculous. Anyway, the testimony is ongoing. I may add a bit more later but for now I’m taking a break for lunch.
