Katy Perry Melts Down After White House Uses ‘Firework’ in Iran Strikes Video [WATCH]

Katy Perry is openly furious with the Trump White House after its official TikTok account used her 2010 hit “Firework” as the soundtrack for a video showing Iran military strikes, as reported by Breitbart.

The pop star blasted the administration Saturday over the clip, saying the use of the song was not authorized and did not reflect what she believes the track represents.

“I am deeply appalled and angry to see ‘Firework’ used on the @WhiteHouse TikTok account as a backing track for video footage of military strikes,” Perry said in an X diatribe.

“I did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it.”

Perry also said the song was written with a very different meaning in mind. She framed it as a personal anthem rather than something to accompany images of military action.

“I wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing, and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments,” said Perry, who has endorsed every Trump presidential opponent from Hillary Clinton to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

She continued by arguing that the use of the song changed its message in a way she rejected.

The Official White House TikTok page posted the short video on Thursday. The unclassified clip includes bombings and carries the caption “Iran has been warned.”

The post also includes a fireworks emoji, tying the imagery even more directly to Perry’s song. That detail appears to have added to the controversy around the administration’s use of the track.

The Breitbart report notes that Perry has kept a relatively low political profile lately.

In January, however, she posted anti-ICE propaganda and urged her 195 million Instagram followers to “turn anger into action” after the shooting death of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.
